    Evening Everyone

It was my weigh in today and I've lost 2lbs a bit measly but hey better than nowt

Have to confess to sinning as I had a huge piece of my daughters birthday cake and it was sooooooooo good. But I am a coeliac and wheat flour and my stomach dont agree so I paid the price by having stomach ache all afternoon.I had to try it though as I made it and it looked gorgeous 4 layers of pink sponge cake sandwiched with pink buttercream and jam and covered in pink icing.Do you get the feeling she likes pink:D

Other than that been a good girl.I made a batch of sausages yesterday and as I know what went into them I know how low carb they are.I'm sick of paying a fortune for low carb sausages

Gilly welcome back and congrats on the weight loss.I dont think you had any choice on increasing your food intake cos Sazzy is cooking:rotfl:

Birdie welcome back you were missed and if it was a good holiday its got to be worth the weight gain

Daisy you have me puzzled cos with all the exercise classes you do and the little that you eat you shouldn't even need to be low carbing to lose weight

ravylesley - 2lb a week aint measly! I'm quite happy losing that and I have lbs and lbs and lbs to lose :o.

Anyone else finding it difficult to maintain their water intake now the weather has got cooler? It's not just the drinking of cold stuff that's making me shiver - it's the constant trips to an unheated loo and the partial disrobing it entails :rotfl: (sorry, TMI?).

I only ever lost around 2.25lbs a week and I was quite happy with that. So long as you are losing around 5ounces daily your body can cope with that and you will still have plenty of energy.

We really shouldn't be thinking of low carbing just for weight loss.
Low carbing is the diet our bodies evolved to suit best.
Only 333 generations have eaten cereals
200 generations have eaten dairy produce
7 generations only have eaten refined sugars, refined cereals, oils and canned foods
4 generation only have eaten junk food from the food processing industry.
there have been about 6,666 generations of modern humans and around 150,000 generations of the earlier humanoid forms. Our muscles and our brains function better without these relatively modern foods and although the odd excursion back into modern processed foods isn't likely to be of much consequence if you regard low carb as the normal healthy food that you are going to stick with ad infinitum, then you will be on the right track.

Hi Sue - I'm on the IPD too, but ryvitas definitely aren't allowed!

2 ryvita is more than half your daily carb intake. are you doing the 2 week induction?

i find the almond pastry base works perfectly - i use cold butter and a food processor to rub together, then just press it into the tin.

After being inspired by stories of Tinkerbell's, Shykins' and Ted's successes (and there are many more, I'm sure), I'm going to start LC soon.

I first did Atkins 23 years ago, and then again - briefly - about 10 years ago. I know it works, but I did find it hard. Seems easier now though, perhaps - so many fabulous LC recipe sites.

I've forgotten a lot, and so I'm working my way through reading this very long thread. And I'm bound to need to ask some questions too.

I'll be starting on a Tuesday because I know from experience that the hellish carb-withdrawal headache will hit me on day 5-ish, so I'll be able to rest at the weekend if necessary.

hi lesley - well im 5'4'' and currently weigh approx 11 and a half stone
i have been about 10st 8lbs for the last year or so and i like that weight

at that weight all my size 12 clothes fit me lovely and can even wear some nice size 10's too

i dont like being this weight - i feel big bloated heavy and ungainly - ive been low carbing for approx 2 years - apart from my slow lapse back to carbs from easter to summer -which was actually when i went from my lowest weight back to this

exercise - i just do - i love it guss thats why im a fitness consultant lol but i admit i dont normally do as many classes
i usually do about 4 maybe 5 a week with the odd gym session thrown in
ive only upped my classes as im trying to lose these extra pounds

food - hmmm i feel like i eat alot !! i do snack too but as they are low carb snacks i dont write them down - maybe i should so you can get a real picture ??

my downfall is alcohol - i work hard all week and like to relax with a few drinks at the weekend
i would not be able to sustain any WOE that didnt allow me to do this - yes i know it makes me sound like a complete lush but honestly im not

i came back from holiday on tues 26th and weight 11st12lbs

today i was 11st 7lbs and that was after gaining 3 lost pounds back

so long as its a downward trend im sort of happy :)

and i dont want to screw up my tummy tuck - it was too expensie !!!! :o
