    What did the screen say when you ran IPCONFIG?

    It should look like this :-
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.7
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

    or if you type IPCONFIG /ALL

    Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx
    Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
    Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.7

    and other things that dont see useful..

    That's an NTL IP address, not a local LAN address!

    Are you sure you only have one ethernet cable in the 4 lan ports, and that goes only to the computer you did these results on?

    When you plug it in, power cycle the router.

    Give it a minute.

    Open the DOS prompt again and type IPCONFIG /RENEW

    Wait a few seconds (say 30)

    Then type IPCONFIG /ALL

    Then tell us the results!

    yeah, but my modem/computer are connected by usb and when i tried to take that out and connect via ethernet i couldnt get online... ill try again now :confused:

    anyway my point was that yeh there's an ethernet cable from the comp to the router, but there's also usb connecting modem+comp
