Hi Folks - can hardly call it a shiney new thread when we're already on page 3. Thanks anyhow suggs:beer:
Didn't make it to WI last night since we're seriously budgeted until next Friday. (bum) so can you please put me down for STS this week Brighton belle.
kpc I know what you mean about being attached by chocolates ... a movie sized bag of minstrels lept at me during Grey's anatomy on ch5 tonight... I'm devastated.......
Oh, since we're on MSE should add that I got a suede coat on freecycle today... I was well chuffed until OH pointed out that it's the kind of coat that my mum/his mum (age 62 and 61) would buy in an attempt to be trendy and his 46 year old cousin owns 2..... But it's he's not putting me off. My only "good" coat is on it's last legs and this one will do until I get a bit of weight off and can buy one that's a bit more fashionable and age appropriate (still not even close to 40 yet). The thing about the coat that did bother me was, it's made me realise how big I really am. It's a US size XXL and whilst it doesn't really fit me on the shoulders. it definitely fits around the hips... No denying it now... going to have to get my finger out and do something about all this weight I'm carrying.
granny - I really appreciated your post to procrastinator sometimes it's hard to acknowledge that you're struggling but well done for admitting it and recognising that not gaining any weight back is just as successful as losing it in the first place!
Day one again for me tomorrow.

lainei, you aren't the only one who cries at tv - i do too. my mum is way worse than me though. she cried at ant and dec's last episode of cduk.
hope you're not too bored by porridge reruns bbelle!
delly, glad you like your coat and i hope the size thing hasn't upset you. clothes sizing is a minefield anyway, so don't be too disheartened. I have clothes in my wardrobe starting at 12 and going up to 18, not to mention my trauma with the XL corset that I can only just get into. there will be no bending down for me the night i wear that!0 -

......... :j:j now there's a thought.
Bit the bullet and did a shop in Aldi last night folks. I was disappointed at the (lack of) variety of stuff there to be honest, and don't think I could save enough money to make it regular, as I'd still need to go to Asda or Tesco to finish the shopping off . There are a couple of gems though; they do an oil spray which is effectively Fry Light but is only £1.29 for the same size can - Fry Light is about £1.90 - £2.00? Works out cheaper per ml even when Fry Light have their 33% extra cans on. It's called LessKcal and our store had it in sunflower and olive varieties. The other gem was the world's best yogurts - Optifit yogurts with grains in!! They have four flavours - Strawberry, Blueberry, Orange and.. err.. something else - and they are 39p each. They are free on SW and although they are a few pence more expensive than the Tesco/Morrisons/Muller Lite ones, they are a million times better. About 150kcals for a 250ml pot for the calorie counters out there.
Off to watch the Ladies European Tour golf in Oxfordshire today - I fell very lucky with the weather, me thinks.0 -
Ajax- I quite like Aldi but I think it's a once in a while place to shop as I agree, you can't get your whole shop. I love all the quirky extras in the middle of the store, but it's not really an MSE thing as it makes you do impulse buys!!
Today I am going to Edinburgh on the train with my friend for lunch ( we live in York) and a bit of light shopping (!). We look or deals on the train and then splurge on lunch (moneywise not caloriewise!!). As Dorcas used to say in Larkrise to Candleford 'it's my one weakness' and like her I have many!!

Morning ajax morning all:D carpets are coming today:D last of the decorating to do and then it is back to the real world...looking for a job, attending the schools appeal for my son, going out of the house, now that would be a novelty:rotfl: :rotfl: looking forward to less to do and more to explore outside of this house:rolleyes:
In this house I have inherited a water fountain in the garden, annoys the hell out of me, yes I know supposed to be calming and soothing but keeps reminding me I need a wee lol but also now have an apple tree with eating apples on that will be ripe in september, love apples can't wait and have the most gorgeous flowers in the garden in full bloom, very lucky girl me xx0 -
Page 3 already!!!:D Thanks Suggs  ...
...Loved to read about your wedding plg that's the sort of wedding MrP would have liked :rotfl: ...
...I hope that you're lurking procrastinator please don't give up completely...
...I liked your take on clothes kpc I think we would be far happier dressing for ourselves rather than for other people. I prefer to see 'outlandishly' or 'outdated' dressed people who look happy than sullen fashion followers. I waited until my weight was down before buying anything, just didn't feel the need or want to waste the money...
...Lois Glad your OH is on the up and up :j ...
...MrP likes Dr Who and we record it Sky+ too, I'm tempted to tell him what's happened as he has last weeks still to watch:rotfl: but I want to live to see the tennis final on Sunday, because...
...Today is semi final day :j :j Rafa :happyhear to win in three :j :j Safin to win 0 0 0 :rotfl: I can dream :rotfl: ...
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Afternoon all,
It is done! I am FINALLY FINISHED PACKING! :j Woooo-hoooooo!
I have those big sports bags (you know the ones footballers use?) as they are the lightest. Those big plastic suitcases are very nice - however when I weighed my mums M&S set (before I came to Japan) I was shocked to discover that ONE weighed 7 kilos with NOTHING in it!
Anyways, I digress - one bag is full of clothes the other shoes! Seriously - I have one bag full of shoes! Mostly sparkly "return to Oz" ones at that :rotfl: Shocking! No left over weight for my handbags (each bag is 13 kilos - slightly over my 25 kilos allowance  ) so I had to ship ANOTHER box home (thats 4 boxes in total!) - full of handbags! ha ha!
OH is off to rent a car. We're going to his mums later to drop off boxes of stuff we don't want to ship to Scotland. I have 2 boxes - OH has loads.
Victory - sounds like your house is coming along nicely. Good luck sorting out the school situation.
fitorbust - what's with this going to Edinburgh shopping? Glasgow is soooo much better shopping wise. (not that I'm biast or anything :rotfl: )
Lainy - with your continued determination you're going to be choosing any clothes you want in the near future!
Procrastinator - I agree with everyone else - I def think you should stick around.
BrightonBelle - LOL @ your husband. I watch those kinda shows all the time. They have started showing "The A Team" on Japanese TV and I'm addicted! It's soooo cheesy it's funny. I love how they go into a shed with just a lawnmover in it - then come out an hour later with a tank! :rotfl:
vix - whats with your choice of code name!?!? "Vera" - PMSL - it conjures up an image of an *ahem* "older woman"."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
Morning All
Very very quick one, heading to Bath in a few minutes for the Meatloaf concert tonight, stopping over as well so making a sort of weekend of it.

Hi - nice new thread!:j :j
Missyg - yes - I am looking forward to Sunday, am delighted to have over £600 in sponsorship now.
I ran last night, am walking tomorrow and resting Saturday ready for the big event!! I asked Darren, my personal trainer, about preparation and he said to keep as hydrated as possible on Saturday and SUnday - even mentioned these isotonic drinks - has anyone tried them?

£600 is a fantastic amount well done!! I've used the isotonic drinks. Don't know if they made much difference but one of my friends swears by them. I do find I have less of a headache nowadays after running, so maybe they have something to do with it.
You'll have a great time on Sunday! Are the Nivea cheerleaders at your event? Lovely boys! I'll be thinking of you.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0
