plg, thats a very cool story about your 'wedding'. you'll dine out on that one for years 'do you know that he didn't even bother taking me? oh no, just went by himself to get the certificate . . . . ' You need to find a picture of yourself at work and put it in a frame with 'my wedding day' engraved on it!
I agree with you about confidence clothes too - there are things that I won't countenance wearing. I sometimes find it odd when people stress about wearing swimwear or shorts. For me it's a no-brainer - I just don't. I wouldn't want to look at myself in either of those outfits, so i won't inflict them on others. Skirts are different though - especially if they are long or longish. And you wear tights or stockings with them. I find it's a way to still feel a bit girly without looking like a troll. Does anyone else do that thing of refusing to buy clothes too? I'm determined that I'm going to lose weight so I refuse to 'waste' money on clothes that I insist won't fit me. So i'm wearing out the same 4 outfits. I'm not stupid enough to buy things in smaller sizes that i'll 'slim into' but equally I won't buy big clothes. Very stupid i know.
Some interesting dr who theories here . . . that 'most faithful companion' thing could apply to all of them really - SJ has kept the faith for many a year, Rose has travelled parallel universes to get to him, MArtha walked the world, and Donna sacrificed herself in the last ep. All very exciting and I do enjoy the speculation. OH sent me a link from a forum he uses where one of the poster had said
'russell t davies, if you make the doctor a girl i'll find you and kill you myself'
which cracked me up. Has anyone seen the trailer what i think is going to follow doctor who? bonekickers? Looks a bit primeval and that totally kicks wotsit.0 -
Thanks everybody for all the lovely things you have said about Ryan, he has worked so hard and really deserves all the praise. Missyg - he (and Sophie, his twin) will be 8 next Sunday, he's not doing bad considering that when I was pregnant I was told there was a 50% chance he would have no quality of life.
Well done to everybody on another great week of losses & sts's, and big hugs to all who gained, you know it's only a little blip think of what you have achieved already.
I'm so glad we are on a new thread, hopefully I'll be able to keep up with this one
Good luck to everybody on July's 5lb challenge (and good luck plg, with the rest of your packing) xxx0 -
KPC, After the news leaked my godmother (aunt) called me in Japan to say she was "shocked" that I didn't invite her to my wedding in Japan. She then started to rant and I cut in with a "You weren't there? Well neither was I!" - that made her quiet! :rotfl: As soon as everyone found out I wasn't in attendance I was off the hook - they couldn't possibly take offense if I wasn't there either!
Last night OH did something to annoy me (can't remember what it was) and I said "Oh why did I marry you? ...........*PAUSE*.....Oh that's right - I didn't!" and then we both burst out laughing! I'll cast it up for years!
Totally with you on the clothes front. I'm determined to lose more so I'm currently not buying any clothes. I can fully pull down my jeans without unbuttoning or unzipping them :rotfl: ! Just as well I have a belt! As soon as I get to my target [strike]I'm[/strike] OH is going to treat me to a whole new wardrobe! Bright Idea -- thank you for sharing a little bit of Ryan's success with us. I'm head of a mainstream school with additional provision for children with physical disabilites. I'm absolutely positive that there were a lot of tears that day in school as Ryan used his walker. I know just how traumatic that operation is and how incredibly hard children, parents and support staff have to work to do the physio to make the whole thing successful.0

Procrastinator -- Don't go!
I haven't actually reduced my weight in abpout 3 months, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that if I didn't stick around on here I would put it all back on --- I've don ethat SO many times before. So stay with us ... we might not make you thin but we can maybe help you to stay the same size.0 -
Did another 10km run today, 1h 07m 45s so that's 3 mins better than Tuesday's one
I wasn't intending to try for a better time but the first 5km was slower than Tuesday and that annoyed me :rotfl: I was more than 5 mins quicker on the second 5km
Feel a bit better now, glad I dragged myself out to do it... doesn't make up for yesterday though
What's the official distance of a Marathon in km? Is it 40km? I've done 25km since Monday and I think it would be cool to do the equivalent of a Marathon in a week
Hey PLG sounds like it's all systems go there! Congrats on the watch purchase, have you got a link for the one you've gone for? Well done on the 13kg luggage too, I'm very impressed
I totally agree about not spending money on clothes while you're losing, although there came a point last year where I had to buy a few things  which of course only lasted a few months before I needed new again... expensive, especially adding on things like bras and sportswear. And now even clothes I've bought in my 'maintain' size don't fit because of how my body is changing as I'm still toning up :rotfl: it's never ending!0 -

missy,
I bought the "classic 3151" (before anyone slaggs me off - I am aware it's a gents one but I prefered it cause it has bigger face than the dinkie girls ones)"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?"
