Suggs, roast chicken is only an average of just over 100 cals per 100g (skin off). Bread approx 100 cals per thick slice granary or wholemeal. Flora spread or similar, if you had spread, is 30-70 calories per 10g (1-2 slices) depending if it's extra light or not.
Doesn't sound too bad to me anyway SuggsEspecially considering how much you work off in the gym!
Did a run today - a slowish 6km. I'll be back on the exercise bike for an hour later but only a light effort oneI'm enjoying my higher calories of 1500 per day but can't help feeling that I'm eating too much
It is going to take a lot of will power to see the week out with this.
Thanks missy, it was a guilty pleasure, but its something I enjoyed. More like last weekendI would be very lucky if I STS tomorrow.
Forgot to mention I won an Ipod shuffle at work :j got it today. All I did was find a code on the intranet and got entered in the draw. Now to see it I can get on with it, as I prefer one that has a display and folder setups.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

Congrats on the win Suggs! Worth having an extra one anyway in my opinion, with all the running you'll be doing!
Are chicken and bread really on the 'guilty pleasures' list? I don't think it's anything bad even if you had quite a lot, it's not like an alcohol or chocolate binge(Or Haribos and walkers baked crisps if it's my house :rotfl: )
Kenny - we all start somewhere and 6 metres was probably about the distance of my first run!
Victory - Haha Bros!!! It always amused me when their fans would say "oh no, Luke is MUCH better looking than Matt" (or vice versa).
Thanks Lois for the reply about water, the recent report sounds good to me too! I'll go with that one
Weekend nearly upon us! Anyone up to anything good?0 -
How many calories should I be eating a day in order to lose weight. I'm 6ft 5in and 22st 13lb. I want to lose about 3-4 pounds a week to start with.

:hello: Hi demondoctor
I haven't done so well today as I went out without breakfast, then had an apple and a fruit scone in Mr T (with butter or it is too dry to eat!). Then went out with my family for lunch, sweet potato soup, bread roll, and now my menu plan for the family includes chips.
I have started to cook some SW chips for me so I hope I don't nibble any of the other unhealthy ones. My sons and husband are very thin and very active so they need loads of calories.
Well done on the ipod suggs, but that reminds me I have my Wii that I won to exercise on. The pain in my legs is pretty bad today and I did do a bit of walking in Tesco but I will give it a go. I like the step exercises the best. I am sure it lies about my weight though as I seem to be going up on it and STS on my friends scales.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Demondoctor, if you go to the first page of this thread there are some great links which will allow you to calculate your daily calorie needs etc. Look for these links:BMR calculatorHiya Poohbear! Hopefully no harm done today
Daily calorie needs
Calorie intake to lose weightThe difference in wii scales and your friend's ones might be because of different times of day maybe? My wii board and scales never agree exactly so I only go by the bathroom scales
I've done Day 6 of my daily hour on the exercise bike. Was hard going today on top of the 6 km run earlier. During the TdF broadcast they mentioned that the cyclists will typically burn between 5,000 - 8,000 calories per stage in the race!!! Imagine having to intake at least that amount of calories per day for three weeks!!!0 -

Hi Demondoctor - to find out what your calorie intake should be you need to work out your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and then use a formula based on your activity levels to determine your daily calorie output. To lose weight your daily intake should be reduced by between 500 and 1000 calories.
It sounds complicated, but it's all simplified on this website and there are calculators to help you work it out.

Hi all
Hope everyone's ok tonight.
I'm looking forward to my holiday - we're off to France, setting off tomorrow evening, staying in Dover for one night then an early crossing on Saturday morning. My eating strategy for the week will be to eat as sensibly as I can, get as much exercise as I can to burn off any surplus calories, and try not to drink too much alcohol! With all that gorgeous French red wine on offer I might find the last bit [strike]quite [/strike]very difficult...:o
Anyone else watching Celebrity Masterchef? I really shouldn't, my mouth is watering and it's making me hungry!

Oops!
Just when I thought I'd got back on track, I end up having a really really bad day at work, missed break and lunch due to sorting various problems out, stayed 40mins longer than I should have and then had an Indian takeaway and a large glass of wine!
Ah well, will enjoy my night out tomorrow and then straight back to the grindstone on Saturday! Hope it doesn't do too much damage (but I'm sure it already has as I managed to munch my way through most of a cheesy garlic naan!)£2008 in 2008 member 552 £1947 to go! (started 20/1/08) Total wins £61

Hope tomorrow is better for you Lemondrop.
Thanks to all who responded to my plea for advice about chocolate - very useful.
Ironically I eat quite well at home - it's just at work I eat rubbish!!
I'm also a tyg/tog for the drive to work (20 mins or 45 mins depending on traffic) and love the Janet & John stories
Now who do I fancy - that would be telling - but normally people who make me laugh
I'm going walking for a couple of miles over the weekend if the weathers good so fingers crossed as sadly my exercise regime has gone to pot totally over the last couple of months due to visiting my grandfather daily in hospital.0
