    Hi BB

The breast bone break never healed (I can feel the two sides grating against each other when I cough or sneeze!), the pelvis healed up for the most part, however the 3 breaks separate a bit if I cough as they never healed fully. 90% of the time they don't really bother me but when I get a cold OR if I sit or stand too long I can feel it!

Gosh, I didn't realise that could happen - it sounds like you're being held together with string and padding - ligaments and muscles in other words.

On the plus side, if you ever need open heart surgery, which hopefully you won't, they won't need to saw through your breastbone!

Sorry, in a strange mood today.... :o

:rotfl:, too much padding in my case! Ligaments and muscles are fine but I now have podge as well :D

so tommorow could be the best or worst day this year :(

Best of luck and keep us posted!

now i would like to hear a little about yourself, and others please,, dont be shy :)

Hmm okay most people know my story but here goes again for those that don't.:o

I used to be slim and fit (ran everyday, swam, played squash, volleyball, rode - you get the picture!), my job involved being and keeping in trim, actually the docs were a little worried as I was about a stone underweight for my height (I'm 5' 6" and I weighed in at 8 stone 7 pounds dripping wet :rotfl:).

I was driving home to visit my parents and was stationary with hazzards going (queue of traffic across three lanes of the motorway!) and someone 6 times over the drink drive limit kept going at over 70 mph into the back of my Maestro car turning it into the size of a mini!

The outcome of this was (takes a deep breath!) a shattered right ankle (subsequently had nearly half the ankle joint removed as it didn't knit together again), dislocated right knee, pelvis broken in three places (sort of healed but not fully!), all the ribs down my right side broken, breastbone broken (never joined back together but normally not a problem), dislocated right should and right ankle and broken right wrist and hand. I didn't get whiplash though! :rotfl:

Because of being almost bed bound for a year AND being put on steroids + other medication (some of which I still need to take occasionally and ooooh boy do the people on here hear about it when I do!) I piled on weight up to 22 stone and 13 pounds in a year!!!!!!!!!! That was 14 stone and 6 pounds in 13 months! or another person!! (indeed more than one person for my height!), the doctors have now accepted that the medication was to blame (they kept telling me to cut down my food - I am overweight so ergo sum I eat too much until they saw my food diary which on a good day when I "over ate" I was getting through 500 calories or 20% of my calories!!), they also say there is no more mechanical damage (yay!!), so I am eventually losing weight (29 pounds down and 100+ to go!)

Sorry if this is more information than you wanted :rotfl:

Wow it's been busy on here. I'm really struggling to get motivated to loose weight :( I want to lose some weight so badly but then i find myself wandering into the kitchen and munching. The gym is so expensive as well. I know i'm just lazy, but can someone please give me a push?
Oh and Dragon, Delly and anyone else who needs them, major hugs!!! And Happy birthday to Bindiboo!! Hope you are having a good day xx
