Things got worse last night... he decided to be completely honest with me and told me that he loved her . you can imagine the fall out from that one.

can someone please explain to me how you can love someone you've known for 2 weeks? He can't accept that it's an infatuation and he'll see clearer in a few weeks time.

I can't fight against a dream and am at a loss for what to do?

Hi Delly. I'm so sorry I really hope your OH realises what he is gambling with. He is in love with the dream not the girl. I can't help but think about what the girl must be like - she knows she is causing trouble but still came to visit. Moo!

My Oh went through a wobbly period when he hit 30. Felt trapped and saw all his work mates out having a blast whilst he came home to a wife and three kids. Things came to a head when a girl at work decided she liked him and went all out to get his attention (he claims he didn't know she was after him). She came up with claims of being assaulted so need his help walking back home late at night and sent loads of messages. I too felt helpless as he couldn't see what see was doing (she even told his friend that he came on to her at a time when he was at home with me). However he liked feeling needed by a younger woman and hated it when I told him I didn't like him hanging out with her. Thankfully he realised that whilst he was 'trapped' by having a wife and three kids, he loved us and that I was also 'trapped' by having a husband and three kids. He moved jobs and we are very happy (we will have been married for 19 years on 2nd Sept).

What does your OH want to happen? Has he said he wants to go with her or does he want to change things at home? Has he thought about how he would feel it the shoe were on the other foot? I asked my OH how he would feel if things were the other way round and he realised what he was putting me through.

I really hope this helps. Thinking of you.
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

Just got back from a week in Cornwall and I know the scales will show the results of those cream teas. I may as well just slap them on to my thighs (probably a web site for that!). We had a great time despite the rain. My eldest didn't come with us as he started on a project run by the BBC. He is learning how to VJ (mix video with music) and they are having a performance in Hyde Park. He is also in the video thay have shot for the piece! Plus BBC2 has been there filming them, and it should be shown in about a months time.

Diet wise things went up the swany as everything came with chips. Back on the diet today.

Oh Delly :( I'm so sorry to hear about the latest turn :( There's no way I'm in a position to offer advice on this sort of thing but I really hope things work out for the best and get no worse for you. Look after yourself and DS :)

FFM I had a feeling you weren't unduly concerned about the scar. Inside elbow sounds quite a delicate place to have an op... not that there's ever a good place to have one, but you know what I mean! Hope you enjoyed the chips btw ;) How's the car booting marathon going?

BB I didn't realise things had been so bad for you for such a long stretch of time :( I guess even more reason to make your 40's the best decade of your life so far? :) "What we've done with the years" obviously means different things to different people, but we can only measure it against the baseline of the cards we've been dealt in life, and I think you are way ahead of many. Hardly a day goes by without you posting about something that's made you happy :D "Urban foraging trip" - haha love that :p

Good to see you posting too Bails, hope things are very much on the up with you now :) Any new news?

How was the meal with friends Lois? Good luck for the half stone, fingers crossed. I don't know where I was when Elvis died, what's the next one along from that where we're all supposed to know where we were at the time? :p I'm probably in that next category :p

Hey Tagz glad to hear you had a great time while you were away! Lol about creamteathighslapping.com :rotfl:

Very modest week for me this week - cals under 1500 every day, 30 mins exercise 6 days out of 7. Expecting a loss tomorrow but only a small one, I think because I was away for longer than usual and not watching what I ate at all, that the weight had more of a chance to settle than most 1-2 week "holiday gains" that fall off afterwards so this will probably be a long haul... I don't regret it though, and still feel good with my size/weight where I am now :)

tagz thank you so much for your advice. it's made me feel miles better. yes, he does realise how he's hurt me but he is happy to have a second chance and realises the damage he's done. I believe I can forgive him, but he's not sure if he can forgive himself.

Again, we're taking things one day at a time and since he's not good at telling me how he's feeling, I've suggested that perhaps we need to go to relate to be able to move forward. He's giving it some thought

And yes, she is a complete moo! You had to read the text from her last night... talk about manipulation in 10 words or less... "Ok, I will walk away.." bloody mare! She had no rights in the first place. beatch.

Folks, I realise that I've been keeping this thread away from the WL thing completely and I apologise. I'll keep you up to date obviously but am going to try to stick to the LW stuff on here. I may have to vent now and again though. Thanks for your support..

Oh, and the up side, another sneaky WI this morning - 6lbs off! lol Wonder how the "official" WI will look tomorrow?
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
  • Delly - don't even think for a nano second you need to apologise. The WL is what has brought us together - our lives and friendship our what keep us here. You're going through it and I have no doubt that other long termers here like myself want to be here for you and offer support. So say what you need to when you need to.
It was a blow to hear how things have progressed. Relate sound a very good idea. I can only hope in the long term that last night and his "confession" will be seen as getting all the infection out in the open so it can ultmately heal properly. Little miss 'I've got a bluddy nerve' has really p***d me off with that text - how very "noble" of her to walk away. I would be angry if it was just you, but there's a little kiddie involved here too!!! Tagz experience was really interesting and I hope has given you hope.
Sending you a 100 hugs xxx
Thanks missy.... but what this about 40's ? I am now official 39:rotfl: (yeah, right!)
Good to have you back tagz - the gang ar all slowly re gathering but still missing a few in action...
Just had a fab lunch with friends. Quails eggs & smoked trout. Yum. And it is now blazing sunshine again. Tour of Ireland starts wed missy:T :j .
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Perfectly put BB. As our WL is intrinsically linked to our daily lives it would be weird never to talk about them. But far more than that, we are friends, here to support each other through the good and the carp times.
I was so sorry to hear the latest turn of events Delly - hurt and angry on your behalf. I do agree with Tagz completely, it's the idea he's in love with, not her or anyone else  I do so hope you can work it out for yourself and avoid selling yourself short; we are all worthy of a truly loving partner xx

    :)

Elvis died in August 1977 (gosh 31 years ago, that makes me feel really old :o ) so that's probably before your time too. I think the newest event that everyone will remember where they were and what they were doing, is the twin towers, or 9/11 as we know it now.

    The meal was great thanks.
