And if Suggs is going to be a page boy can I be a matron of honour? I look very matronly, in a Hattie Jaques way. I'm not sure about the honour bit but I'd try. (You're actually too young to remember Hattie Jaques, but let's just say I won't be outdoing either of the brides)
And congrats on the debt clearing.

hattie jacques quite the hottie in her time granny . . . . . .
had a bad day - stress just totally got to me. Found out that although i was the successful candidate for the jab the blimmin hr dept have done a headcount and put a stop on all recruitment. So i was the one who got it, but at the moment, i haven't got it. And then realised that I haven;t kept a close enough eye on my business bank account and it's gone into the red so that could have cost me. big time. Finally, went out to do the shopping. I made the STUPID mistake of going to the tesco extra nearest the leeds festival. It was filthy, mud everywhere and people just making a mess with no regard for anyone else. Plus out of stock of just about anything i may have wanted to buy.
grumble grumble growl grumble. I hope kenilworth castle will cheer me up later.
have a great bank holiday people - good luck with the decking suggs, it's on my to do list too!0 -
Hi folks,
I know I said I'd be about more this weekend but had a massive fall out with OH after he dropped his "friend" off at the airport and our marriage is officially on the rocks. Spent the night at a friends house with DS and currently waiting for him to sober up enough to talk. Had to leave, cos every time I looked at him I just wanted to give him a slap.
Everything is upside down atm and DS (clever boy) knows that something is up and is very clingy and cries at the slightest thing.. Worst of it is, it all came from him - I didn't do anything wrong and feel so powerless. It could be a case of the mid life crises a bit early but Just dont know which way is up...
On a brighter note - the WL thing is going well. I'm so devastated I've barely eaten since Wednesday night. Still don't have my appetite back.. Tea and water is all I've wanted (what is it about tea?)...... So here's to a brighter WI on monday morning.
I'm sure you'll all be having a much better bank holiday that I am,so enjoy.

Delly -I'm gutted by your news: wished we all lived nearer each other at times like this. Pop in here when you can.:grouphug: I just hope when he sobers up he wises up. No fun for you having to carry little one's distress.
Vix - no, sadly kids didn't happen for us: one of lifes sadnesses but you just gotta focus on the good stuff some times. FFM is right - the moon walk was 1969. There was a significant political assasination a few months after I was born:D . Getting closer?
KPC - nonononononononnnnnoooo. That is not fair. So presumably you are left in limbo as to whether this job will materialise at some time in the next few months? Hope kenilworth does the trick.
Mr sun in shining (must find fainting smilie:D )We're off for an amble to local flea market soon. Mmmmm, dispite a tenner to last til the end of the month. Trouble is, coz my health can be really dodgy, we need to grab our treats when we can, so it's hard to be 'sensible' at times. We then will either have attempt number 2 on our bikes (weather has been so carp since 1st attempt) or do a recce by car of the starting point for birthday picnic next week so we don't have anyone getting lost.
First of all, most importantly, a cooked breakfast coming up to fuel up for the rigours of the day.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Thanks BB. I got a text late last night from him to say that he wanted to talk, what I do know is that he feels "trapped" and that he cant do the things that he's always wanted to do. Whilst I'm sure nothing physical happened with his "friend" there was still damage done - a younger woman with the same interests as him just out of a long term relation ship and free as a bird - off to travel to Oz for the next year.....she just didnt realise what damage she was doing. Turned his head back to when he was 19 or 20. with no responsibilites .. Doubt I can compete with that but I'm going back in an hour to talk and leaving DS with the friends until we can talk it out.
Keep your fingers crossed folks!Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Delly that sounds a nightmare for you - you poor thing
Home life should be sacred and I hate to think of anyone having a bad time at home. All I can say is things tend to work out for the best - in the meantime I hope you and DS can cheer each other up a bit
Glad you have a supportive friend there to help out.
KPCReally sorry to hear about the job... no doubt that feels worse than not getting it at all. What a bummer. Same as above though, I hope it turns into a blessing in disguise and something much better comes along
It's great to hear about your new relationship Raph, you sound so happyCongrats on the ever improving debt situation, you have been working really hard at that!
Of course the scar will improve FFM, our bodies are fab like that! Keep us posted about how it clears up. My op is a week Monday, I've had worse before so I'm not worried about the procedure. The main danger with me is trying to rush the recovery and get back to activity too soon - but I'm well aware of this and hopefully common sense will prevail
BB, that puts you as approx 5 years older than me I reckonI always maintain it's not your age that counts but what you've done with those years
Hope something turns up very soon for your OH. Enjoy your weekend - 'no plans' sounds good to me, whether it's 'cos of financial constraints or not! I can understand how you feel about grabbing treats, and you seem to do an excellent job of getting joy as and when you can. I find it really uplifting to read your posts.
No plans for me either this weekend, we've done enough this month and just want to relax. Been eating and exercising sensibly all week - not boot camp - and on track for my modest target so it's all good news0 -
Delly~Sending you a big hug.
Hope things turn out as you want.
KPC~Hope job is sorted out soon.

Delly, hope it works out for you both. Like BB said, it is a shame we are scattered around the country, have a virtual hug anyway :grouphug:
KPC - it's a pity you didn't get the job - but congratulations on being their chosen candidate. If a position comes free perhaps they will be in touch. I hope something comes up for you.
Missyg, sometimes having a 'quiet' weekend is just great. I love them.
My bank holiday weekend is due to be spent doing 3 boot fairs, DD and I did the first this morning £5 to her, £21 to me - every little helps. Tomorrows one starts at 7am again, but Monday's is 6am  . If we're lucky we will run out of stuff - great for getting rid of the clutter - not so good for finishing off DD's chips that she bought for 'breakfast'.
Reporting a 1lb loss for last week, so the chips won't hurt too much.

Seems to be a time of carp news - really rubbish about the job KPC, so frustrating! I hope it does come up if you still want it; enjoy Kenilworth.
BB, you go for it, we've got to take it while we can as sadly there'll be plenty of NSDs. Enjoy yourselves!
Hope the scar heals well FFM and good luck with your op too Missy, nice to see you back posting.
Pet, we miss you, hope things improve soon xxx
Raph, thanks for sharing your happy news, great for putting a smile on our faces!
Funny about the Disney stuff, the only thing I liked were the rides!
It's been pants pants pants here for quite a while but I seem to be edging my way out of the woods today, fingers crossed. OH is now coming home so hopefully he'll have more space for us now as well.
Have a fab weekend everyone; I hope there are happy times to come for us all xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

thanks folks,
Things looking up. He's agreed to give up the "friend" and we're working on the marriage. Just taking things a day at a time for now (well an hour at a time atm). There's definitely changes to be made but at least he's acknowledged that he hasn't been communicating with me in a long long time... all of you long term LW folks might remember that stuff has been going on a long time but never seemed to be fully resolved.
Here's looking to the future and at least the woman that he befriended told him that she expected I would ask him to give up the relationship (although why she didn't just cut off the ties herself if she knew this is beyond me altogether).
Anyway, now is not the time for recriminations or accusations. I'll keep you up to date.
On a lighter note, had a sneaky WI and I think I've lost 3lbs in the past 2 days - BONUS! lolGoal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0
