Hi Y'all, not posted for ages with work, life and Wimbledon taking over. LOL

Mrs MATH & the MATHLETTS are complaining that they haven't eaten hot food for nearly two weeks but as I explained, if Wimbledon starts at one and doesn't finish till nine how can I be expected to cook;) Mrs MATH has offered to jerry-rig a TV in the kitchen but I'm afraid the Tennis has to come before their dietary needs:D

I'm gradually winding things down here in the emids as I'm off to the coast for six weeks next weekend with the MATHLETTS, leaving Mrs MATH and the cat to fend for themselves. Here's hoping the weather is tropical until the end of August. I'll be glad to escape as we live surrounded by fields and my hay-fever is rank, plus the harvest flies are just starting to swarm (yuk) It's not all honey living in the country LOL (actually, that's a fib - it is pretty good most of the time)

Gotta go, I should have left for work 10 mins ago!

Will read the thread proper tonight.

    Hugs to all MATH x

Hi everyone and welcome back Math - it's been ages since you posted.

Well, I've got the ironing done but not put away yet and the house is tidy and my REMOSKA has ARRIVED! I've just opened it and looked through the booklet and now I have to decide what to cook in it! I've bought it to save energy costs (and oven cleaning duties!) because they say you can cook anything that would normally go in the oven but at a fraction of the cost! Watch this space - I know Beth is waiting to see how I get on with mine before she commits herself to one. The free gift I chose with it is great too, a block containing three different sized pairs of scissors.

Also the Love Hearts I ordered via eBay, for the wedding favours, have arrived. I can see what the main problem is going to be - stopping myself from eating them. I have 200 packets with seven in each one and, of course, I had to test one! They are yummy!

Well, I'm off for some lunch then I'm going to pop out for some milk and other bits and then come back and try out the Remoska!

    See you all later.

    Hi Guys!

    Having a slow day today.

WM has been on with DD's bedspread and hung out on the line. Have sorted some paperwork and filed some too.

OH did a lovely lunch of Stirfry with left over chicken. It worked out about £1.10 for the whole lot! Not doing any cleaning as such today as the cleaners are here in the morning and they can do it all. Its all clear and tidy and thats the main thing.

Thats it from me today asIm knackered.

    Afternoon everybody :hello:

    ((smoky))

hilstep my sympathies - a friend is currently dealing with a very similar Occ Health situation - being sent from pillar to post to get a second and third and fourth and umpteenth opinion about her medical issues. They all say the same thing - that she's neither disabled enough to be dismissed for incapacity nor reliably well enough to work full time without taking huge swathes of sick leave - but still the company persist in sending her to MORE docs who all say the same thing  OK, I can absolutely see that she must be an expensive pain in the backside to the company she works for (this has been going on for several years) - but you would think that after several IDENTICAL professional medical opinions the company might seek to deal with the situation more constructively

Off to see a rare opera in Surrey this evening - something I've wanted the chance to see for years, and it happens to be on in a town where a couple of my best friends (also opera-lovers) live :D

Am having my (early) birthday BBQ this Sunday, and having taken such trouble to find an outdoor space for hire, I've checked the weather forecast and it looks like we're all going to get drenched  Fortunately the venue caters for this contingency! It is also, of course, Wimbledon men's final day, and secretly I'm hoping it DOES bucket down all day as two of my friends declined my party invitation as they got tickets for the final. Mwahahahaaaaa!!! :D

Right. Must be off! Hugs to all in need :)

    Love Rzl xx

Mioliere, I am waiting with baited breath to see how you get on with your Remoska, I wanted a Tefal Actifry, but think I might invest in a Remoska instead (plus the Actifry is twice the price  )

I don't want to buy a gadget I won't use (like the Foreman Grill), but looking at the reviews, the Remoska looks really good

    Hello everybody

    :(:(:(:cry::cry::cry::wall::wall::wall::sad::sad::sad:

I'm being a right misery guts as I'm getting nowhere with my job search...am feeling really useless tbh. I hope this mood passes soon as it's not very constructive at all.

Hilstep, bahhhh those damn employers!! No matter what they say all businesses, enterprises, etc etc etc are ALWAYS about money and everything and everyone is always secondary to that. (I've worked education, in the charitable sector, the NHS and in the private sector and trust me, money is the highest deity in all of them!) I'm glad to hear that you've got fighting spirit and that you won't let anybody push you about. Get what you are properly entitled to and don't let the bar stewards get you down!!!

Oooo I don't believe it, it has stopped raining, hurrah!! It's like the lights have been turned on, and yes, I am feeling a bit more positive already. I think I'll go and buy the papers now, to see what fantastic opportunities are available to me.

    Bye

    Good afternoon!

Sunshine and showers all day here, very odd weather! Not done a whole lot today, hospital appointment this morning, got seen really quickly by every department, and I went to several! I was most impressed, had expected it to take most of the day and I was only there for an hour and a half! Then went off to have coffee with a friend, why does it always taste better if someone else makes it?!

Came home past Aldi, so popped in and got some more cheap fruit and toms, can't believe that cherries as just 99p for a punnet, they are soooo expensive everywhere else. Also grabbed some of their little shandy bottles, ds thinks he's very grown up being allowed to imbibe these occasionally, think they're about 0.5% alcohol if that! Then via Mr T's for cat and dog food, was very good and didn't fill a huge trolley with unnecessary stuff! Was hoping to find some cheap 10p items, not a lot of luck with the cheap coconut block, they didn't sell it as it was only a little shop, but did find the packs of puff pastry mix for 11p - thought it'd be worth a try rather than the frozen stuff - yes I know it's not os, but it takes so long to make and mine is never very puffy!

Had a quick tidy round, and caught up with some phone calls, but that's about it for today. Tea tonight is roasties, sausages and cauliflower cheese followed by some of the fresh fruit I bought today.

    Enjoy your evening all xx
