Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All
Hi to all the insomniacs around, had an earlish night, which seems I am very early today. Blaming the heat the in/out therm. on our ensuite window read 27C in and 22C out at 5.15am. The price we pay for hot sunny days, seems it was around 35C again yesterday, was trying to avoid putting the AC on but looks like now July is here will have no option. Will have to build my post para by para so don't get confused by me M-ing.
Thanks Pen-pen - do normally keep up with the news even out here, but Wimbledon fortnight is Tennis, Tennis, Tennis and more Tennis. Commiserations to Murray, he says he was out-classed and in truth he was, but he has taken it as he has to do what Nadal and done and improve his game, so good luck to him, maybe he gets a outfit stylist too. Looks more and more like a Federer/Nadal final on Sunday :j :j . We are going down to stay with friends near La Manga this weekend, but have permission to watch the Men's Final on Sunday.
Just popped outside for a cool off, the sun is just trying to rise, still dark, the stars are out, and the blackbird is singing good morning, we get more sparrows here than we do at home, they seem to have disappeared back home.
:grouphug: All those with OFSTED's, Exams, etc. :grouphug:
gentle :grouphug: Smokybabe - yes mate I can understand your reaction to your realisation, please realise you cannot do everything, you must work out your and your kids priorities, and if some of the "domestic goddess" tasks fall behind, so be it, iron only what is absolutely necessary, take some short cuts. Re the hair I made the same decision around the same age too, and once it got to the skunk look Aussie, started with blonde streaks which eventually became more and more, now this nearly black haired youngster, is a old blondie, which blends in better and doesn't show as fast. I did this while working within a 300 mainly men factory environment, and it was so gradual, they never realised, until one guy said months after, "cor you're a blond now"! Yes, and that is what I will stay - s*d the going grey gracefully - not in my books.
Pen-Pin glad you got home, hope you don't feel too bad, and you are enjoying watching the tennis.
Anniestar - I need the remembrance service before I feel I have said my goodbyes, we are all different, glad it went as well as it could.
Everyone else not feeling 100% or who needs or would like one - gentle :grouphug:
:hello: :hello: Jayward (hope you enjoyed your meal out and have a good break on Friday), Mioliere, Chalky, dlb & C-C (where are you), tru, Sunnyday,CM, everyone else not mentioned by name (sun-addled brain).
:hello: :hello: All newbies and nearly newbies :hello: :hello: it is surprising how many there are without close friends around, and those who have, but still enjoy the friendship on here. Come along join in, before long you will be being insulted by Aussie's pics, (unless you are very nice to here like me
.
Today will prepare a meal for tonight, as have loads in the new F/F and got dragged out (kicking and screaming - well the Nadal/Murray match was in the 3rd set) to a Wok Asia last night, so must eat up as hate to waste. Give the downstairs a quick once over, as DH has had to re-build a unit to accommodate the new extractor, and remove some doors so the F/F fitted. All before 10.30am as after than far too hot, a quick dip in the pool to cool off after that, and maybe a siesta in the shade to catch up on waking up so early.
Enough M-ing I think for now - only re-connected 6 times so far  it's now light, so off the sit outside and have a coffee in the relative cool.
Take care and have a good Thursday. DG

Morning Donny-gal and all who follow. Seems like no one is around much and you have been all alone for hours......
I am trying to install AVG 8.0 at the same time, so my computer is on snails pace.
2 more days off left and I plan to continue my work in the garden and get everything looking 'a bit somthing like it'.
Spent the day yesterday at my OH graduation to teacher. Quite some achievement these days as even primary teachers are expected to start their Masters degree. I think I have a few CSE's somewhere:rotfl:
Looks like a wet weekend and showers today.
Have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning Donny & all to follow,
My goodness that was a big post. I suppose you do have the habit of talking under wet cement. I promise mine won't be as long.See I can insult without pictures.
I'm afraid my skunk look is from my blonde highlights growing out showing my real colour of hair, a gorgeous mousey brown. I'll get it sorted next week. Just waiting for DGS & XDIL to come down and visit. I couldn't wait so am sitting here with a strong cuppa. She can make her own.
Finished the dress, so when DH comes home he can upload the photo. I really should learn how to do that.
N9eav How did your stool test go? If I missed it, and all was well, that's great.
Well yesterday's thread has gone blank, so <hugs> to those not well. Will pop back later. Enjoy the day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Oh the stool test.... I forgot about that gross post. I had Campylobacter. It went away a few days after with a little help from Imodium. Quite common apparently.... I even had a letter from the council enviromental dept wondering if I had some dodgy food from a shop or restaurant... I think ti was the Royal Cornwall show. Too many free samples of food and crappy cooked food out in the sun all day...NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

No chance of wet cement here Aussie it would dry instantly :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: , tbh with the constant losses of connection I had only just finished the post   I would love to download AVG 8.0 but the connection will not stay up that long will have to wait til I get home, not sure if I have Bband then, in the middle of changing, but probably go to a wi-fi spot and drink coffee while it loads.

Sorted out a load for the washer. Its in...just not on yet. Will get the little toad up at 8am so we can get to toddler group on time. When we leave the washer will go on. I've fished out some chicken drumsticks for tea from the freezer. Will put them with a salad (running theme at the moment) and possibly some new pots. Depends if I can be bothered to do some washing up later. This morning I just can't. Don't know why...just one of those.
Finally managed to put the Easiyo on yesterday. Bought the thing last xmas and OH loves the sachets. Expensive I know....but when you keep coming across Julian Graves shops with 'everything half price' sales on the problem is running out of them. I've got another 7 left and then I'll finally get round to sorting things out the Old Style way.
Hugs to all who need them.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Morning all
Long day for me today, starting at 7:30 & finishing at 5:30, something to do with getting a NVQ. Still at least I'll be out of the way if the head is still in a strop, his poor PA is bearing the brunt of it. Washing is on the rads as it is raining out, I'll unload the dishwasher & feed the cats & then set off.
Have a good day
Hugs Hester

Morning all, I've just read through yesterdays thread, there seems to be so much hurt out there. Candygirl sorry to hear about the job fiasco what a bit*hy thing to do, your better off without so called friends like that. Hugs to you and your DDad. I know first hand of what you are going through.
Hosp went ok, they will not op on my other arm until my right one has healed, still having probs with it. Have to start pyhisio then back to hosp in 6 weeks for another check up.
Phoned DB2, Melanoma spreading, he has a new mole on his face. He has to have checks every 2 weeks where they measure the moles, he now has 39. He was expecting to get the results of the chest x-ray but they said his GP would tell him. He rang for app. receptionist said Dr. is going on leave on Fri. He explained situation, so he now has an app today at 10.40.
I have to take DD2 to hosp for a Conduction test, she has same probs with her hands/arms as I have, it's coincidence as it does not run in families. If I spend much more time at the hosp they will start charging me Council Tax !!
Have to leave at 8 so got up at 5 to put a chick cass in the oven BM should be finished soon. DW finished and emptyed by DH.
Will take DD2 shopping in Taunton after hosp and spoil her a bit, well why not.
Smokie, Annie, Mrs. Mix, Pen Pin and many more ((((((((( HUGS )))))))))))))0 -

morning all,
Overcast here again today, looks like rain, still never mind off to w**k today anyway, no penguin racing for me today, just month end accounts  .
Scampi ( bogof ) chips and peas for tea tonight, nice and easy, and we have a sainsbugs delivery coming between 7 + 8.
pen pin, glad you are home, take it easy xx
Jayward, candy, tired mum, smoky, hugs to you all xx
Need to empty the dishwasher before w**k, and have a swipe around, it is supposed to be my DD's sports day today ( she is doing shot put ), but looks like it might be rained off, so it will be next week instead.
OH had notification of his driving test come through yesterday, its on the 1st August, and I can't wait hope he passes. I passed mine very young, and have been driving for years, after three years of ferring him around at weekends I will enjoy him doing it for a while
Have good days all xx0
