For those worried about the Chickens, the deal includes the larges ones. Not sure how they are going to display them though. So if there are none on the ends check the main display. As for the actual offer it is running from Thurs to Sat, with some slight changes. The offer will work Sunday but will not be advertised . There are also between 12-20 additional lines of each course in the food hall to be put into the deal if a store sells out of anything. So if a store employee says the have sold out of a course ask them to check there paperwork. You will be surprised whats in the deal but these will only be added if everything in a course sells out. As always though the deal is limited by what the store has been delivered. If you want the best deal shop early. One other thing the thursday promo on wines may stack and give insane discounts. 10% discount on 6 bottles of wine and additional 20% of wines and then the meal deal savings. Depending on how many meals you buy the reductions could be incredible.

Since you're "in the know", can you confirm something I think I worked out a few deals ago (I posted details at the time) regarding the sizes of the Oakham chickens please? (Since I/we obviously like to get the heaviest available)

I noticed that there was a Medium at 1.75kg and a Large at 1.83 Kg, similarly I've seen an Extra large at 2.3kg whilst I actually bought a Large at 2.2kg.

Now remembering back to "old money" 4lbs is 1.818kg, and 5lbs is 2.27kg, both of which fit snuggly into the pairs of figures above.

So I guessed that Small is under 3lbs, Med is over 3lbs but under 4lbs, Large is over 4lbs but under 5lbs, and Ex Large is 5lbs and over.

So if my observations/calculations are correct, the heaviest Medium on offer would be 1.817kg and the biggest Large would be 2.26kg.
Just nice to know what the "target" is, "for maximum return", we should be aiming for ! ;)

    Sorry, not FOOD

But it does inc Wine and Champagne - so may be interesting to see if the 20% comes off the wine, then the discount for the "dine for £10" deal as well. So could be an extra good deal tomorrow.

I have only bothered once with the meal deal - and the chicken is still 'sleeping' in the freezer, waiting until family come home at holidays;).
But, I was very disappointed with a BOGOF pub deal I 'treated' myself and youngest to recently. Made me realise just what I had been missing.
£ for £ I would rather be tucking into M&S food than the steak & kidney pudding and Lasagne we had to force down in the pub. Just the thought of M&S sticky toffee pudding is making my mouth water. That too was heading for the freezer, but sort of never got there. Yum, YUM:D

Sorry - me being thick. Could you explain this a little more please.

    Thanks

I work at M&S and when its the Dine In for £10 deal like it is this weekend then some people will come in and get 6 meals. This doesn't come out as £60 as there is an ongoing wine deal which is buy 6 bottles save 10%. This offer still works with the meal deals so if you get meal deals with 6 bottles of wine then you save a extra 10% on the wine.
On Thurs only you will get an extra 20% off each bottle of wine plus if you buy 6 in total then you will get the extra 10% off.
If you bought 12 bottles of wine and have one of the wine booklets found instore then you get £5 off the price of 12 wines, plus the 20% off each bottle plus the 10% for getting 6 bottles of wine.
  • Ooh, potentially £8 (I'd buy it with the juice instead of wine)...MUST GO TO M&S TODAY!!
