In meadowhall today we were given £5 off vouchers as they only had fruit salad desert. The value of this depends on what you chose as I bought lasagne, potatoes, orange juice for £5 something, but my daughter bought linguini, potatoes, chardonnay and it came to £8.47, so that combination was more than the original deal, as the cheapest sweet is £2.49. Will be there at opening time in a fortnight!!!
  • Yum.

Just had Goat's cheese and butternut squash lasagne
    Garlic ciabatta
    Melty choc pudding
    and Pinot Grigio.

£5 per head - and I wouldn't have complained if it was served to me in a restaurant.

    Bargain!
    de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar ;)

I went in today, plenty of choice on everything but desserts - but they said you get a £5 voucher to let you choose another dessert. That sounded fine, so I went through the till with 4 deals (minus desserts) - but I was charged full price for it all (£58) rather than the £40 it should have been with the desserts. Apparently this is head office instruction - but a few people were complaining. Anyone else found this? or maybe not even realised if you got it with other things?

surely with your 4 £5 vouchers the bill would only be £38 ?? or was that with the vouchers taken into account ?
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

I've heard the weekend specials will be on every other week inbetween a Dine In week but I'm not sure how long this will run for.

No, the £58 was what I had to pay - the vouchers were to buy the desserts that were missing......so it works out as 2 dine for around £15.

so you are saying that the £58 was after applying the £20 discount?

for it to work out to around £15 a person, then you must have chosen the most expensive item from each selection. as usually, once the discount is applied most people save around £7 per deal. so if you were given £5 towards your deal, then you should really only be about £2 out of pocket - making if £12 per head!

i dont know, as you were given a £5 dessert voucher, did you then only buy desserts that were £5ish each. as most that are part of the deal are around £3-£4. so that could have wiped out, any possible saving

  • I was only talking about this, this morning. I missed this weekend and I couldn't find a list of dates.

    So, thank you :)

We went yesterday afternoon and were slightly too late. They only had the squash lasagne and sausage meals left (which was fine as that's what we wanted) and plenty of wine (wanted this for a Christmas hamper), but there were no side orders or desserts left at all. At first they said they'd give us a £5 voucher at the till, but we would still have ended up paying more for not even half a meal. They wouldn't let us have other items instead and our three-year-old was seriously bored and tantrumming by this point so we walked out. As we were leaving the staff were taking down all the promotional signs and stickers and turning people away. I was gutted as I'm eight months pregnant and had been looking forward to that lasagne all day.

I'll definitely be going earlier next time, but I bet they don't have my yummy lasagne in the offer again.
