Hi
I am reaching the end of what I intend to be my last ever bottle of cleaning spray and want to be able to make my own which can also be eco friendly. I have had a look on the forum and there is the obvious vinegar/water mix.
Is there anything else I can use, would love to be able to have a scented (lemon smells so cleansing) one, but not sure on how the mix would keep.
I know there is someone there who will help!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
I've used Zoflora before, not sure our eco friendly it is, possibly not very.
It does come in a glass bottle though, you dilute about 1 part to 50 or something like that. Then refil your plastic spray bottle with this.
I think these about three different smells, so I'm sure you'll find one you like. Can find it in supermarkets, with the cleaning things.0 -

Hi, same as Turfy. I use stardrops for almost everything. Its the best and cheapest cleaner around. Also use vinegar water for windows. But have to admit i havnt found anything to substitute washing up liquid and washing powder.
Anyone have an idea?0 -

Has anyone made soda crystals into a spray? Was wondering if this would work! I find stardrops too drying on my hands for an everyday cleaner0

Easiest way to "scent" is to use a drop or two of lemon essential oil - literally all you would need for a normal sized spray bottle and initial outlay on oil soon offset by length of time it lasts.
Favourite cleaning fluid for me:
Multi-Purpose Deep Cleaner
1 cup household ammonia
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup baking soda
1 gallon warm water
Cuts through grease, dirt, etc. I add 10 drops essential oil (eucalyptus is cheapest, then tea tree and lavender but I agree that citrus smell "right" for cleaning!)0 -
Thanks for all of the replies, didn't think about essential oils, will go forth & clean!A smile costs little but creates much0

I found a good website for bulk buys of those basic essentials like vinegar and soda, it's called summernaturals.co.uk (new user, cant post links, so you'll have to google it)0
