good to see you on here.

i use white vinegar - its manna!!

but if i have to buy any cleaner, it has to be JIF or CIF as its now called. you dont need lots of different cleaners for lots of different jobs; jif will clean anything; floors cookers, walls, toilets, baths. you name it.

    good luck.xx

One part water, one part Stardrops (concentrated soapless detergent) and one third white vinegar.

For limescale remover in toilets and kettles a cheaper solution is the shops own brand economy or value coke.

Does this work with diet coke? I can't stand the stuff but have some lurking in the fridge which has been left over from a NYE party. Or is it the sugar that make it work?

Definately works in toilets. Leave it in there without flushing for quite some time and will be really clean.

With the diet coke as a limescale remover, do u just pour it into the kettle and leave it? If so how long? Am new to this forum and normally use brown vinegar in the kettle which i boil but i have diet coke left over from xmas that needs using up. Also anyone got any suggestions for removing limescale off the taps?

Kettle - water and distilled white vinegar, half and half. Leave to soak then rinse well

Toilet - Diet coke, leave for an hour then flush - this is really only if toilet totally ingrained otherwise use a couple of denture cleaning tablets in bowl overnight.

Taps - equal parts of white vinegar and scrub with soft toothbrush. If really dirty soak paper towels in it then wrap around the tap with a freezer bag round paper towels and hold with an elastic band. Leave over night then wipe and rinse.
