Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll give them a go and order some at lunchtime. Hopefully they'll be ok!

I have just received my re-glazed glasses and they are excellent and they even sent back my old lenses so I can compare thickness between the two.

I paid a fortune for the thin lenses from the high street a few years ago and the lenses I have in now from SelectSpecs are much thinner and lighter with all the coatings for free.

I had a similar experience to British Beef :T

Thought I may have left it too late to get new specs and a pair of sunspecs for my hols., but ordered some from Fashion Specs Direct
    - and they arrive in only 3 days !! Couldn't believe it.

Highly recommend them for service and quality - the specs are great.

Has anyone ordered any glasses from http://www.selectspecs.com/ when I try and order them and put in that I want to pay by credit card it does not take me to a place to enter my credit card details. Has anyone who has used them paid by credit card if so how did you pay (enter your details)?

    Diehard,

I'm a very nervous and discerning online shopper. I looked at the site you mention a while ago for my glasses and got very twitchy. Reading up on the subject on MSE, there's no possibility of me buying from an offshore company.

I would only even buy from a UK company by recommendation (I'm not the most confident online shopper in the world:)). Have a look at my comments and experience of buying my spectacles online here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=29444&page=18

    I hope this helps.

Hi DieHard, I used selectspecs ages ago and was not very impressed. They missed off the AR coating, had to return specs to get them recoated and they smashed the bridge fitting the new lenses. They returned the glasses AR coated and with the bridge broken.

Each step of the process took about 3 weeks.

Did get my money back however.

I know poeple seem to have widely varying experiences but Id give select a miss.

By the way Julian, selectspecs are a uk company ;)

Apologies for my inaccuaracy. It was just that it quoted me in U.S. dollars! Wrong assumption on my part, I think. Still - that was enough to put me off!

Following the threads on the foum I ordered a pair of glasses from https://www.fashionspecsdirect and Glasses direct on Monday - I'm amazed to say that the glasses from fashion specs direct arrived today, about 2.5 days from ordering. They are absolutely fine, and it is a luxuary to have a pair that are the right prescription (as I last updated lenses about 3 yrs ago).
Very impressed with speed, and happy with glasses - based on the amazing service I received would happily recommend them!
