Great Cheap Glasses Hunt

Hi,
I'm thinking of ordering some designer prescription glasses (D&G 5001) I've seen from https://www.iris-spectacles.co.uk. They are £120 cheaper here for transitions lenses than my optician has quoted me.
Has anyone used them before? I'm after a bit of comfort that they are ok to order from.
Thanks.

A work colleague recommended these a couple of weeks ago, went on to buy from them - and was VERY disappointed. Delivery & service were the given reasons.0 -
Anyone know of companies other than Glasses Direct that do a mail order catalogue? Several elderly people have expressed interest in buying their specs by mail order, but none of them have access to the internet.0

Healthcall are a company that send an Optician to the home where they will do the eye test and supply the glasses (dont have contact details right now so maybe google will find them)
other than that its a bad idea for them to get over the net as fitting etc needs to be spot on with bifocals etc and older people tend to have more problems getting a good frame fit.

Thanks for the help, I'd rather not recommend someone to visit people in their home - many of these people are very nervous about this.
Does anyone know anything about Glasses4UDirect (http://www.glasses4udirect.co.uk/contact.php)? I've tried ringing the number on the contact page, but it says the number's not recognised, and it's not listed with BT.0 -
Hi Julian,
Thanks for the feedback on Iris Spectacles. I might still risk it as they are sooo much cheaper and I'll expect to be messed around.
Thanks
Paulina.
(P.S. My thanks button doesn't seem to be working)0 -

Hi do not want to bore you but i am a great fan of C.S.I NY and in the last series the pathologist had a pair of spectacles that split across the bridge of the nose. I thought they were weird but looked funky they fasten with a very strong magnet. I looked high and low for them but nothing, until now. I have seen Anthony Worrell Thompson, Helen Mirren with them.
Found a great UK site https://www.clicspecs.com at great prices selling the readers in different colours. So I had a couple of pairs never looked back (excuse the pun); they are great. They also sell for sports people, goggles for snowboarding and skiing they have great sunglasses as well.
Great price and good quality lens you can even get the girls and kids some. I love them and the looks you get from people they are a great conversation starter, check them out.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
I saw those (also a fan !)
I think glasses direct have also started doing them
