Afternoon me lovelies! Well I saw our weezl and mr AM and glimsed the beginnings of Fergus and said hello! (he may think I am a little warped already dear reader!!). Very exciting! Much laughter was had by Mrs Weezl and I as we delved into our differences - which are many!! Our weezl despairs of me!! Classic example of our differences is a discussion over (a) how to fool myself into reducing gb (requested by me I hasten to add - not enforced) and also what to do with save money. Now our weezl is a sensible weezl and I am a not very sensible ISOM as is indicated by the fact that my reward choice was to have a spa day (ie something I couldnt normally justify and feel I've earned by the sacrifices of the reduction in gb) while mrs w suggests possibly paying off some of my horrendously high cc bill...umm...tricky one that. Seriously - I know I should pay off the cc but its not nearly as fun as the spa day is it eh?!! Anyway we did come up with a fun idea which I will post separately later on o/s when I have thought more! Dont get too excited mind...!!

Almost(fingers crossed) finished decorating bedroom number 1 ,need to see it try in the daylight to see if another coat is needed
Its been a while since we decorated ourselves (got decorators in last time) I have been shocked at how much paint costs
As second room will be beige we are going to mix our own paint from all our relatives leftovers to save a bit
Got BNIB curtains from freecyle but gonna have to buy beds as the kiddy bunks just too small for a 6'4" squaddie(DS)especially if they fatten him up in the next 6 weeks !!! I am missing him but don't tell anyone
Had a yummy tea almost all from the garden a veg quiche with garlic and rosemary roast baby potatoes and roasted veg(peppers onion, courgette and tomatoes)

Afternoon everyone !
I wanted to make a spotted !!!!!! but thought I might leave that until tomorrow night - have a Guide meeting tonight and didn't want to go and fall asleep half way through because i'm full up !
Fridays are a bit mad because I have Rainbows after school and then DS has to go to Beavers. On days (like today) when DH is at work I have 20-30 mins to make tea, get it in the children and leave the house again...
I should be organised in the morning (I am sometimes) but couldn't manage to get stuff in the slow cooker before work today, so I got some ovenchips in the grill pan before Rainbows, so when I got in I grilled them and poached some eggs whilst chivvying DS into his uniform. The children think it's a treat and more OS (not to mention Weezl-ish) than the chipshop chips DH suggested. And he was ready in time for a friend who's taking him tonight, so :j

Ceridwen- my children eat elderberries straight off the tree and they're none the worse for it!
I figure people have been eating crabapples/elderberries/rowanberries for centuries and folks would've worked out a connection if people keeled over after eating them...
I've just been looking at some different recipes for crabapples and elderberries- will try and post them later.

Hi hmkn,
I've just started as 'assistant guider' - my first night tonight ! My daughter goes to the group i've joined so it will be really nice ! I'm kinda nervous though I must admit ! I'm also doing the accounts and admin so have taken on a fair bit but I don't mind - will keep me busy !
We don't start until 7.30 so it gives me plenty of time to get organised (although I have had to be more organised than usual !)
I might have to PM you for some tips from an 'expert' !
Hubby is in the garden atm, picking some very ripe cherry toms from the greenhouse and some courgettes. He's going to have a go at making the roasted tomatoes (then wizz up into passata type sauce) so we'll see who's taste's better.
Going to have to start using some of this stuff I keep making - I have no room in the freezer !!! Mind you I haven't done a full shop for over 2 weeks so am really pleased with myself. I have had odds and ends to get but am amazed at how far I've managed to make stuff stretch this month and it's all thanks to you lovely people on this thread !!!
Right i'm off ..... have a good evening all and don't chat too much otherwise i'll be on here till midnight catching up ! :rotfl::jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -

Well...ISOM...think with you and our Weezl...its a case of "opposites attract" from what I can see..Me ...I'm the happy medium....well....I could probably do with being a "medium"....moneymaking opportunity methinks?:D0 -
Weezl - I remember months ago you were the one that told me where to buy the cheap wholemeal flour at Asda. Just thought I'd mention that if you still buy it that they are selling it for 27p a 1.5 bag at present. (at least at mine they were tonight). I stocked up.

ooooo.... may have to check ours and stock up myself!
daughter has phoned and asked me to babysit tonight -- which will be until the wee small hours. but she lives closer to Asda than we do, and it'll be a lot quieter at that time of day/night (it's a 24 hour one), so was already considering popping in again (was in there yesterday evening when I dropped elder son off just around the corner!)
ETA: showing as 27p on their website, so must be that price everywhere. I'm definitely popping in! Am taking some cookery books with me so I can make a shopping list while I'm babysitting I thinkCheryl0 -
About the index of recipes, I honestly will get round to updating, I just keep getting put off by the sheer size of the thread!!!! Sorry.
You don't have to do it all on your own, though - not unless you want to. There's about a squillion of us here on this thread - if only ten of us can find enough time to trawl through ten pages each and give you singposts to where the recipes are, it's gotta make it a little bit easier, innit ?0 -
