Oh..I 'know' an award-winning baker, pickler & photographer *fluffs up chest & sticks nose in the air* ...beat THAT Nutty Neighbour! [I won't tell you what hand signals I'm gesturing towards next door *looks down coyly*] hehehe. Well Done our Shaz! whoooop-whoooop!
I signed up for the Lidl newsletter Cheryl & the info came on here http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20080918.index,ar6
I've often wondered tho, if all the supermarkets have different prices & offers--apart from the televised ones. I used to work for a particular chain & got transferred to the next branch along & their prices where definately higher than my original base had been.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Just tried the Lidl site again, but searched for stores using friends postcodes.
Rochdale - no slicer
Suffolk - yep! it's there
So definitely NOT coming to the North WestCheryl0 -

Think I'll just hold off a slicer, and put one on my Christmas wish-list -- which was previously my plan anyway.
If our Lidl were getting them in, then I'd probably have got from there as they're in walking distance. Argos means bus or car (and parking depending on which Argos), and Tesco Direct means p&p charge -- so either works out dearer as a total
Plus if anything goes wrong, it's easier to return to Lidl.
I've lived without one for almost 22 years of home ownership, so I'm sure I can survive another 3 months or soCheryl0 -

Hi
Well I certainly had a good read of the book "Pure White and Deadly - The problem of sugar" by John Yudkin years ago and basically decided from that one to treat sugar as a rare treat.
You know me and my useful links - so here goes:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080313031429AAi4LZN
(reasons why its unhealthy)
www.macrobiotics.co.uk/sugar.htm
(containing info re the high amount of power the sugar lobby has - so no wonder we are told its not a problem)
So - I'm hoping to have a visit soon to a gardencentre and - with luck - can find a stevia plant there and start experimenting with making my own substitute.0
