Looking on Martin's website,
Many people were filled with delight,
Seeing Weezl and hubby,
Getting their hands grubby,
Yet always keeping spirits bright
Who's next, sure you can better that...God is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day

Hello fellow Weezl fans!
Am making tuna and pasta bake for tonight and am gong to post the recipe over on the Grocery challenge. Last night I made toffee marshmellow rice crispy cakes as my partner was bemoaning the lack of 'nice things' to eat with his coffee in the evening and I fancied a change from making peanut butter cookies and flapjack! It worked out quite cheaply really as we had value toffees and rice crispies in stock.
I hope everyone is having a good week.

Does anyone know if you can prolong the life of an egg? I know you can pickle them which I love, but I would like to buy one of tesco's 15 box for £2 but won't use all 15 before the use by date.
Also, what is the test for freshness - does it float if its ok, or if its off??:o
I'm getting nervous preparing for my challenge, it starts on Friday...:eek:0 -
if they float they've turned..... I remember it 'cos when boiling eggs they don't floatCheryl0

Afternoon all
Well im on my 3rdn NSD in a row..and refusing to spend another penny before next months budget starts -on monday i think....
I had marmite on toast for brekkie -forgot how yummy it was -so i had the same for lunch :rotfl: far to much bread in one day -but hey ho. Got another bowl of bread dough risisng ..that will teach me to eat extra bread
..
In the hope that i wil be collecting apples from hubbies ex boss and blackberries from the woods this weekend im on a mission to see how much space i can make in my freezers...
As its rather chilly -hubby won't object to Hm soups n HM bread for work lunches..so thats some tubs coming out... Hubby has the chicken canelonni i made yesterday for dinner tonight as he wasn't hungry when he got in
I ate mine..nomnomnom ... so i have taken out a portion of shepherds pie for me and a tub of hm luxury cauli/broccoli cheese so we will have that with our meals tonight.. more tubs out of the freezer
I have counted up today and i have €35 and some odments in my purse, €30 in my current account and €50 hubby owes me... so €115 is my budget for September..which means i can whack the whole €450 housekeeping into my savings account :j .... that will be €750 about £600 in 2 months  all money that at one time would have just got frittered away willy nilly  .. I have to thank everyone here and on the GC thread as im sure i wouldn't have kept this foccused without you all:D
Hubby is coming around to the "frugal" way of life.. i think he is seeing that we can still have the same standard of living without it costing an arm and a leg ...and he likes it... We are allready planning n plotting for when we move back to the UK in about 4 years... my brother/uncle both hunt or beat for shoots -but no-one in the family will use the game -but me  . Guess who has laid claim to all they can get
.. I will use it and make them cakes, game pies etc in return -I can't wait.. i find i get more and more annoyed at people wasting stuff.
Ohhh a question.. Has anyone here been on a "foraging" course? Im sooo tempted to look into it when we move back..so i can take full advantage of the wild foods... or does anyone have a really good book they would reccomend ? just so i don't poison us:rotfl:
right i will get that dough in its tin..
have a great afternoon all-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Also, eggs keep much longer than the sell-by date. I'm sure some chicken keepers will come along and be a bit more accurate!
