Shaz - yes it was the lemon curd one, and the results are very lemony, I keep taking the lid off the tin I've put them in to take a sniff....in a non substance abuse was
Shala_moo - Must be bakeathon pheramones in the air. Love the ginger adaptation....I adore ginger, and oh hates it....I feel more cooking coming on.
Well chicken has made it to the oven and I'm about to peel veggis so I'm pretty organised on my tea front, got a timeplan and everything ( otherwise I forget something important). I going with the heston recipe coz then I can throw the snips in with them....although, could you roast parsnips in the fryer too???
Meal plans for this week is sun-corned beef hash, mon-curry, tues-jackets and chilli, wed-lasagne, thurs- pasta bake if I'm not sick of pasta, or shepherds pie. Fridays a find our own food day coz we're both at work all day.Now MARRIED!11/09/100 -
I'm not sure how Seakay worked out that AM was AM, IYSWIM, she'll have to pop on here and spill the beans!
From his end of things, he goes to a house and a slim tall lady answers and they chat briefly about the demijohns and then she says 'do you know Weezl74' and he laughs......
Only just logged on today - wasn't trying to keep you in suspense! Sadly I am not good at reading minds, but I did notice the yahoo email address and wondered...
Have just run around the room cheering as it is about 3 years since anyone was kind enough to call me slim! I am on my 15th week out of 16 of GP referal exercise (requested in 2004 but that's another story) and on April 7th I was categorized as obese. So far I have lost 13kg and reckon that I have about 17 to go, but possibly less as muscle weighs more etc. No diet as such but supervised low impact exercise and a food diary to make me have meals at proper times and cut down on snacking and grazing.
Anyway, you've made my day so thanks for that, and also thanks for starting this thread which I'm finding facinating and inspirational.0 -

And on my lettuce pot too. Please someone tell me I'm wrong...
Yeah I've found a few doing that  :rotfl:And then you catch them laying eggs in your containers...
Had a snail flinging session this afternoon and then dug up some potatoes - a few big ones big enough for bakingChopped a lot of onion 'leaves' off too so I can chop them up and freeze (finished the ones I already had in there), it's been so wet that a few onions came straight out of the ground so will be using them up too even though they're still spring onion size. Going away on holiday at the end of the week so just hope that we get a little bit of rain but not too much - I haven't got anyone to keep an eye on the veggies unfortunately!
Last couple of days have been cheap but not entirely nutritiousYesterday I had a pitta bread for breakfast (6p) and then lunch bought by OH - and he also got me chips and gravy at 3am
Today 2 pitta breads for breakfast (12p), and lunch was tomato soup (tomatoes, garlic & hot and sour paste - 12p ish) and pitta bread (6p). Need to have lots of good stuff for tea I think... maybe baked potato, sardines and some sort of veg.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Wow!!
I have been catching up on the thread, and the last one. I am feeling very inspired, have known for a good while that our shopping bills are ridiculous - especially as DH is a chef and eats mainly at work - so really our shopping bills are only for one!
I had a sensible shop delivered from MrT this morning, avoiding temptations, and so far today have made fudge, the hob knobs, coconut cake and am in the process of making chicken liver pate. I'm not sure that I will make the 50p a day challenge just yet, however I am looking forward to more home made food as we have recently put in a new kitchen which is tempting me to cook more. Previously my shopping has run to hundreds a month, and I think that it will be easy to completely slash this with some more planning (especially as the cupbaords and freezer are full of good basics.) I've also just started work in our local city centre, and seem to be spending a fortune trying all the sandwich shops at lunchtime, so hopefully the pate will be a success, and I will be taking home made lunches from now!:j
I am loving this thread, not just the subject matter but the friendly and fun tone, and am looking forward to more - :T0 -
oe thing I love about his thread (appart from the Weelzls of course!) is that you lot never fail to make me laugh! Humping snails...really! Whatever next!!
Welcome back Mrs M & huge hug coming your way. I didnt realise your sister was so poorly...hope you managed to spend special time with her. Let us know if we can do owt to help and do keep us posted.
Re the soda bread recipe I posted yesterday its now tried & tested & I think rather yummy! Just had one of the rolls (left for freezer) and its nice & moist (still hate that word...always reminds me of girls privates for some reason).
Just made the olive soap Shaz...looks better than the last lot which I suspect may have been a !!!! up as the last lot was solid while this was runnier so could be poured into the tub unlike the first lot that was barely able to get off the spoon (the pura batch!).
Well Mr Weezl has just fixed my oven (macho thing that he is!!). Good that I'm not the only one who can confirm hes a sweetie for seakay! Small world though isnt it eh! mrs Weezl you are right about the smell...unsure where its coming from but will give the rug a wash & see if its there! Yeugh! Lovely to match the arome de litter tray lol! Found Hugh on the telly so am a happy bunny! Tonight will be spent trying hair pack, chilling and um...not much else! Do find that I am worse at doing nowt than I was before! Must work on this as am a firm believer in the importance of chilling out! OOoo Hugh scrubbing a live piggy....brings back memories Weezl!
oo just looked at the linky carrie & I think I may have gone wrong wth the amount of starter - I only used a tablespoon! Will see if this lots works (please work!) and if not try it with 3 tablespoons...fingers crossed!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Clearing out the fridge before going away for a couple of days, I have made "end of fridge" soup in the pressure cooker - some lovely chicken stock made when I cooked a chook in the slow cooker, potatoes, carrots, radishes, fennel, tomatoes, pesto... and just as I come to serve up, what do I discover but two wrinkly apples in the fruit bowl which would have been great in it, but which are now destined for the binHow annoying!
