Hertfordshire libraries have recently introduced Transparent Language Online (BYKI). Thought it might be useful to post that for any locals. It has access to courses in a lot of different languages. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? These are great suggestions - Thank you!
I would like to recommend one that is working for me and is an effective way to learn a language:
easylanguageexchange.com
I have found that this language community is very active and the online learning tools makes it easier to communicate0 -
i've been using memrise.com to learn some arabic words. it's designed by other users, is free, and is good if you learn well through images/photographic type memory. download a few courses in the language you want and see which words are the most useful for what you use.
i can vouch for earworms as well, i see them on groupon quite often. worth a go i think.....I'd rather have two minutes of wonderful, than a lifetime of nothing special....0 -

I have found that I need to use several sources and courses before I make much progress in learning a foreign language.
If you are able to practice speaking the language every day to a fluent speaker, the Michelle Thomas courses are probably the best - it uses a very unique technique completely different to anything you used at school. Also Pimsleur is fairly good. I borrowed those from my local library. I think they are expensive to buy.
The online sites I have tried:
Busuu
Duolingo
German Flashcards
Memrise
Most of above have free introductory courses/services and then you pay for upgrading to the full course/service. If you do take out a subscription to a service make sure that you cancel immediately you do not want to continue as most sites set up automatic direct debits.
Any more good sources?0 -
