http://www.bitesizedlanguages.com/ for daily emails with lessons in Portugese, French and Spanish. Is free and I have really enjoyed the Portugese daily e-mails. I download the mp3 files of the daily phrase and listen to them in the tube. A really effortless way to keep practising and learning.
Their website says
"Sign-up now to receive:
* Word of the day
* A phrase using the word in context
* Links to MP3 recordings of the phrases being spoken
* Simple, easy-to-read, diary style format
We also send occasional bilingual jokes, film reviews and more to stretch your linguistic skills... all for free!"0 -
Anyone know any good sites for learning American sign language?0

Kind of online I suppose. If you go to meetups.com and search in your area for your chosen language, you could join a group for free. It is usually a mixture of native speakers and learners and you meet somewhere, usually a bar and chat.
Londoners can go on Gumtree, and there is a glut of posts for intercambio... My Spanish for your English for example.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
Last year I found a Podcast called Coffee Break Spanish, which I found to be excellent. It gives you a Free basic 15 minute podcast weekly to build up your language skills around various subjects , you can signup which gives you access to an additional podcast around that weeks subject and a PDF guide. I signed up but to be honest the free podcast was more than enough to give me a good grasp of spanish and be able to have a conversation with the locals.
The team that created also do french, german italian and probably some other stuff.
Anyway I would recommended and I know lots of holiday reps use it as well.0 -

Ace. Have been thinking about the Rosetta Stone software. The BBC website is brilliant! I got an A for french at GCSE (should have got an A* if it was not for the listening test), and loved speaking it. Now, almost 10 years later, I would love to become as fluent as I was, and maybe learn another language too. Thanks Lawrence!!0

the beauty about the rosetta stone software, is that it teaches you to think in the language you are learning, by not actually giving you anything in your native tongue... it is amazing software from what i can tell, and i've only done one or 2 polish lessons on it, but the way it is made, i remember it!
