Is there a French course for my DS? or one I can download to R4 chip?0

I can recommend finding a partner through eTandem. Language learners aren't monitored, so some partnerships will work & others won't. However, I've met some lovely people through this site. Direct link to English partnership request is:
http://ta.slf.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/pa/pr/anm.php?lang=en
You can choose how you want to communicate: letter, fax, phone etc - but once you have your partner you could suggest Skype.
It's also worth trying one of the language sites such as LiveMocha or FriendsAbroad (should come up on Google search, but pm me if you need the links). Once you've exchanged emails with someone through the site a few times, you can decide if you want to risk giving them your email address. I've done it with several people & it seems a good way of finding a learning partner.0 -
If you use and like the lesson plan of mocha you might also like http://www.mangolanguages.com/
There is a basic free account that doesn't unlock all the features but I found there to be enough to make it worth registering.
I've heard that http://babbel.com/ is also good for a fun way of expanding your (German, French, Italian, Spanish, English) vocab but I haven't used it yet.
FWIW my best advise is use a variety of tools, we all learn in slightly different ways and different form of stimulation may help you with something you were struggling with before.0 -
I've been using Mocha and find it great, but heir Spanish is weird! They say things in an order I have never seen in any of my books and am finding it a bit confusing. Think I'll still to the speaking.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0

Here is a wonderful free site to learn Esperanto www.lernu.net Comes complete with sound, there are several courses on that website. I recommend Vojagu kun Zam for beginners.0

I've been slowly learning Spanish for quite a while using only mp3 files, where you listen and repeat etc. Great while on the tube / bus.
I found the Michel Thomas CDs to be really great for total beginners (like myself), since he gives tips on how to remember phrases, explains verb conjugation and goes over the basics again and again. His advanced CDs are good to, although the final Language Builder CDs aren't as much fun.
Also, a great site is http://lomastv.com/home.php? - there are some free lessons available to watch.
Even better though, in my opinion, are the Pimsleur CDs. Am finding these a great follow-on to the Thomas CDs. The great thing about Pimsleur is that there is very little English; it is mostly all in Spanish. It is not at all chatty - like Coffee Break Spanish - so that when you are listening to Pimsleur, you will be hearing and repeating Spanish; there are no jingles, no annoying presenter etc. The only problem though is these ones are expensive, and near impossible to find.0 -
I agree, the Pimsleur courses are excellent: much less irritating than some of the alternatives.
Why not try your local library? Mine lends them out free of charge (all three levels) for up to 3 weeks. They stock a variety of languages and courses, and it's usually possible to renew at the end of the 3 weeks. I live in the sticks, so imagine libraries in larger towns would be even better.0 -
Hi does anyone know of any good, fun, interactive web sites that teach Spanish to young children?
Regards
CameronAdvice is cheap! Hence their is a lot of it about!

I've been listening to the podcasts at www.notesinspanish.com
There is stuff for sale there but the podcasts are all free. It's a much better way to get to work than flicking between Chris Moyles and Kerrang!*removed by forumteam - please do not advertise in signatures*0 -
