    Evening everyone

Pen-pin - glad you are home, as others have said, nothing like your own bed

Pippa - how old are your granddaughers? I must admit when I moved up here I didn't think of grandchildren, both my kids had left home and got their own lives, I didn't feel bad at leaving them in fact both kids said 'go for it mum you deserve to be happy' but its a bit different when the grandchildren come along!

It has just rained big style here  it knocked out sky for a while has stopped now but it's still very black out there.

OH is not back tonight, probably out all week so I have not cooked a meal, I don't feel like eating when its hot, did cook some salmon earlier so may have a salmon sarnie later.

Tried to apply for a job at the jobcentre today but aparently I am on the wrong kind of jobseekers - oh well

Had a walk round Abakhan Fabrics today, first time I have been there, once I get a job I will be going back :D They have a sale this week on Thurs evening and all day Friday.

Oh 'eck, phone call from OH, his ex has just rung and said come and get your daughter now - he is other end of country, he has asked if I mind if she comes down, I don't but I really can't be doing with the stress. We get this every so often, then get a phone call to say they are friends again.

Oh, Dazi - thinking of you. Don't forget, we're all here for you. I hope the situation gets sorted out.

I'm with you on the grandchildren - it's the main reason we haven't already moved to our hovel in France and my DH is being very very patient!

I'm on Facebook, too, but only use it when forced because I don't understand it! My future DIL keeps messaging me on it to finalise the arrangements for the hen weekend so I've had to log on a couple of times this evening.

I've also spent a lovely hour talking to my Sis on the phone, had a Skype chat earlier with a friend in France and texted my DIL1 about collecting DGS after school tomorrow - all this technology is amazing, isn't it?

Oh, well, time for a bath and some choccie with a cuppa afterwards.

    May pop back later.

Well food all done and sorted. Transported, We have got someone to put out the food whilst we are out at the funeral. One less thing to worry about. Tonight was rather as we feared it would be. Anyway, as ever thanks for your prayers, kindness and thoughts. Will be heading up to bed now. Have been up since 4:45 and will be up by 5 tomorrow. Good night and thank you. Ann xxxx

    Thanks SammyKaye.

Today I was excited to get up and discover I had 2 tiny little tomatoes - they are only going to be cherry tomatoes but there is definitely the start of 2 tomatoes.

Also managed to buy 2 sweet peppers in the garden centre so really looking forward to trying to grow those in the garden.

OH has managed to soak loads of lentils so will be making hm humous later- I hope I can freeze it or he'll be eating humous for a week - there's tons.

The haircut was great- I worked out I haven't had my haircut for over a year:eek: and thought i needed a new image to help in the jobsearch. OH even paid for me. :T

He also treated me to a pizza - we went to the cheapest place we could find but not very OS though :o . Did have a piece cold for lunch though.

Am going to use up 2 meringues we have left and then next time I am going to try and make my own from last month's BBC Good Food magazine - it basically is a fondant type icing and then you microwave then so could be interesting.

Am also looking around for a cheap (but good) and small food processor as the hand blender struggles with humous, and am looking for a muffin/jam tart tin and a recipe book holder.
Making my money go further with MSE :j
