Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd check back to give you an update.
I sent a nice, polite email to the bed shop on 20th August, as advised by trading standards (see below) :
To who it may concern,
Re Order: 14205 & 14190
2 xCLEARANCE - Mexican 1 Door 1 Drawer Bedside Cabinet
1 xCLEARANCE - Memory Flex Kingsize Divan (EXCHANGE 1 BASE TO INCLUDE SLIDING DRAWER)
- Sprung Edge Base: Yes
- Size: Kingsize
- Drawer Options: Sliding End Drawer
Under the terms of the contract these items should have been delivered within 10 days from date of order and cleared payment, which was on 31st July 2009. This you have failed to do. I hereby request that you give me a deffinate and final delivery date for these items.
I would appreciate a speedy response.

Low and behold, the following day I received an email to say it would be delivered on 24th August (today).
And, indeed, it was delivered! I was truly shocked. :-0
Upon examination, it still didnt have the sliding drawer at the bottom but 2 pull out drawers - 1 on each side. Plus the bases are not a match. However, after all the hassle of waiting for something to sleep on I just wanted to put this behind us. I thought, to hell with it - at least is has drawers and is actually a comfy bed.
BUT just to make sure they don't come back at me further down the line and want to charge me for an extra drawer, we rang them to ask if this could be the end of it as we really dont want to go through the hassle of waiting even longer for another exchange. They said that would be fine - they wont be charging any more. So hopefully this really will be the end.
I have learnt a huge lesson here and really hope that anyone else reading this who has not received there goods do so soon.
Kazo: As Tim points out, they obviously havnt got there act together. Maybe you should start a new thread - something like "praise for the bed shop" lol :rotfl: - just to see if there's any response.

Hi I came accross the-bed-shop online and thought they looked like a reputable company! Boy was I wrong!!!!!!
I have been trying to take delivery of a single bed for my son and to date i have received part of a bed and apparently the rest of the bed has been lost. Following numerous emails and telephone calls I am now aware of what a pack of IDIOTS this lot are. I have been fobbed off, lied to, and been treated with complete ignorance by their customer support team in particular Georgina, Kerri and Alex the one who hung up on both me and my partner because we requested info on the status of the order and a refund (Still waiting on it!!!!). I have asked to speak to Michael the apparent manager and have been told he is away (probably on holiday on all his bonuses he receives for his dire customer service acheivements). I totally rcommend NOBODY uses this company as they are the least reputable company I have dealt with accross the globe!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be contacting trading standards on Monday and will post again if any resolution is reached.0 -
Please can anyone give me the details of the MD? They are know as Glacier Furniture as well. Nothing but problems, I am getting my Credit Card Company to deal with this, nothing but broken promises, STAY WELL CLEAR, I only wish I Googled them before placing the order.

I needed to order a specific mattress and The Bed Shop had it in stock and at the best price. I was nearly put off ordering it by the feedback on this forum but decided to pay via Paypal so I would have comeback if there was a problem. Anyway I neednt have worried.
I order a lot of things on line and must say that this is one of the best transactions I have ever had.
1st I rang to check if it was in stock and when it was I was told that it would be delivered by the end of the week if I ordered it that day, last Sunday. Anyway I ordered it online on the Sunday afternoon and was very reassured when I got about 3 emails in under 24 hours. On the Monday I got 2 phone calls to confirm that my mattress would be delivered, not at the end of the week, but the next day ie Tuesday. I also got confirmation of this via email.
I was given a delivery time of between 7 and 8am. On the day the delivery was just over an hour late but as the driver had come down from Liverpool that morning and I was the first drop on his sheet I really wasnt that worried. After all how many deliveries arrive on time when they have a 1 hour time slot!
The driver was very pleasant and carried the mattress into the house for me.
All in all I think that this was an excellent service. I couldnt have wished for better customer service and the mattress was excellent too. From order to delivery in under 48 hours cant be sniffed at either.
I would HIGHLY recommend The Bed Shop to anyone but dont forget if you have any worries pay via Paypal.
I will be buying another mattress from them in the new year.

Forgive me if I sound paranoid, but elvina has posted in a thread that has been dormant for 9 months to give praise for a company who had received some very bad press in the thread.
elvina said that they were almost put off by this thread. Well I can't imagine that anyone who had previously read this thread would even consider using the company. And if you had to you would even pay more to avoid using them. But this is unlikely as they aren't that cheap. So why would someone who has advised people not to use another on line company due to their terrible service, then go and use another also with terribe service?
To find this thread that had been dormant for so long, you would have to do a specific serch, as you wouldn't just stumble upon it.0 -
In reply to Tims post I just want to clarify. I didnt go looking for reviews of this company, I put their name into Google and this string popped up so when all went well with my purchase I thought I would let other possible people thinking of using The Bed Shop know of my experiences as they may otherwise be put off.
As far as posting on a string that hadnt been active for a while is there some unwritten rule that says that you cant?
If someone does badly say so but likewise if someone does well say so - I cant see what Tims problem is!0 -
We used them because following a very extensive search they had the best price for the specific mattress that we wanted. Many other suppliers didnt sell the one that we wanted.0

I dont know why it matters but it was a Pine King Orthopaedic mattress.0
