I begged him not to fob me off but could not help because he is sales and cannot help.... Thanks
Well its now been about 100 days since ordering and still no beds, I was promised I would have them mid May. I called on Firday to say I will be taking them to court 1st thing monday morning if they did not get hold of me by end of business Friday 15th (mid May).
Obviously they are too busy to call so I am right now filing a claim via h**ps://w w w moneyclaim.g o v.uk. I intend to claim for a full refund, + court costs + time, I have warned them way to many times and they have failed way many more. I will post updates as the case progresses.0 -
Michael - if you paid the deposit by credit card, I think you can claim it back through the CC company. They will then pursue The Bed Shop for it back - which will probably end up with them getting bad credit ratings etc. Good luck with your action.0

Ordered a single bed and mattress on Friday 31st July. Then did internet search for seller feedback and came across this thread. I have to say I panicked and called to cancel my order but was reassured by the sales lady who then put me on to Michael who assured me there shouldn't be any problems. Was still a bit worried, however I received regular e-mails updating of order progress and received an e-mail and phone call on 12th August notifying of delivery planned for the following day. I requested the driver call an hour before delivery which he duly did and delivery arrived on schedule - delivery man very pleasant. All in all no problems throughout.0

Thanks for posting Kazo, although we MSE'ers are usually rather sceptical when a brand new poster's first post is on a thread like this. We sometimes think the company has posted it themselves. Still, I hope The Bed Shop have sorted out their customer services now.0

Understand where you're coming from - after so much negative comment I'd be a bit sceptical about a good review as well! Would be interested to hear about any more happy customers!0

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Really, really bad company
I ordered, on 31/7/09 a kingsize bed which was supposed to be in stock as it was under clearance and 2 bedside tables. They emailed to say the bed would be delivered on the 7th August. It did arrive, but they had sent 2 top parts, the reason I knew this was because the bottom part should have had a draw - no drawer present. We told the driver immediately but all he said was phone the company. My husband spent the next 3 days trying to actually speak to anyone from that company. Eventually he got through and was told the bed had been put on order and will be with us in due course, no indication of when. Meanwhile we have no bed to sleep on as we got rid of our old bed!
Several days later we were told that the bed will be with us on 18th August. It didnt arrive. When we rang to find out why we were told that it was delivered but no-one was in which is an outright lie -we were in all day practically sitting by the window waiting as it was that important to us!
They then emailed a new delivery date of the 19th - guess what - it didnt turn up! Reason? The van broke down - yeah right. This company lies through there teeth.
The next delivery day was for today - 20th - low and behold a van pulled up and it was them! Hurray we thought, but all we got was the bed side tables, still nothing to sleep on.
Today we thought enough is enough and contacted Trading Standars and they told us that we have to email them and ask when they will be delivering the bed to give them one last chance and if it isnt forth coming only then can we ask to get our money back - I'm just thinking, all this just to get our money back. I really want the bed and some sort of compensation for all the hassle and money lost through days of work and no decent nights sleep.
It is not right that a company like this can get away with what they do when all they have to do at the end of it if someone takes the trouble to go to CAB or trading standards is there money back - your just back where you started then, with no bed! There has to be a way to stop people like this. They are actually making me ill with all this, in fact just sitting here typing thisiis making my blood boil!
All I can do is try to spread the word and try to warn others to avoid this co. like the plague! I also found that they had traded on ebay but are no longer registered due to tons on negative feedback. I wish I'd done my homework before hand or I would never have ordered from them.
Allin all this bed has turned out to be massively expensive in more ways than one!0 -

Why would happy customers even come to a thread like this?
People in general read threads like this to complain so they dont feel so alone, left adrift and maybe to come up with some ideas as to what to do about the situation, indeed, what legal measures they can take if necessary.
People like us that have been ripped off and constantly lied to come to a thread like this to feel bonded with like minded people and let off some steam.
People dont go online to praise a company for doing what they should be doing all along - i.e delivering goods that a customer has paid for. Thats just NORMAL practice!
If you say you had a good deal, you must be one of the lucky ones, look around the internet and check what other web sites say about the bed shop in liverpool..... NONE of it good.
But what I dont get is why you need others to validate your experience and praise them on a complaints thread.0 -
Thanks for posting, Sabrewulfe. Please let us know how you get on with delivery or refund. It was interesting to hear that about ebay, too.0

SabreWulfe, Being a Newbie and seeing this Forum was called Praise, Vents and Warnings thought it acceptable to post a bit of praise. You are right, did check the Internet after ordering and spent the next couple of weeks panicking in case things went wrong. Obviously was very lucky and don't need any validation - just genuinely interested to see if they had got their act together.0

As SabreWulfe ordered on the same day as you, it looks like they haven't got their act together. Maybe you were just lucky.0
