  • Having had the same problems as all other posters on this forum with this outfit we were fortunate enough to cancel our order and receive a refund in time. However my wife has returned from hospital after having an operation to find that the company are now claiming we received the goods (the delivery driver tried to force us to take it but we didn't). They threatened county court action within 48 hours citing "good reason" for believing we received the furniture. I dont know what this good reason was...

    The threat came within an e-mail from the infamous Michael who now operates his business dealings from a g-mail account. Stay well clear from this company, they have no customer service number and are a bunch of ill mannered oafs.

    One week after I issued a claim for my money back through the court system online, I received another top and set of drawers and surprise surprise they were faulty as well. This delivery was totally out of the blue and was not previoualy arranged with all the rigramole of the other one where I was to be offered an appointment - in practice a rude girl phoned and said that's when they will be there if it's not convenient - tough. I immediately took photos and emailed the Furniture Company. I was offered a complete replacement unit 'within 7 working days.' Seeing as '5 working days' took almost 2 months last time I declined. I have now been offered a refund 'within 5 working days' and the removal of all the goods now amounting to 3 boxes and a large package 'within 10 working days, we will telephone to arrange an appointment'. That old gag again.

    I will await the refund and see how long it does take.

    Somebody somewhere is obviously afraid of being taken to court.

    I cancelled my order and received a full refund without any problems.
    The e-mails I received from the bedshop were polite and accurate so I cannot say whether they are a good or bad company especially with regards to the delivery of goods.
    With reference to the bedshop. For me they need to be more accurate with regards to whether a product is in stock or is not, they need to give accurate leadtimes so that people realise they maybe waiting months for an item and they need to improve their customer services/communications with regards to telephone calls.

    Bed shop are absolute cowboys. Owe us some money for a cancelled order.

    Issued a summons in November. They didn't respond so now have requested judgement be made against Glacier Furniture Ltd and have issued a warrant for recovery of the debt. All through the https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk website.

    Will post back when progress (or not)

    Well they collected all the bits last Thursday. Their website said Friday but they came on Thursday. I am now waiting for the refund. Fingers crossed.

    Yes their emails are always polite, they just don't do what they say in them!!

    Well, the bailiffs were called in (cost as extra £55 to issue the warrant) and last week a cheque turned up for the full amount (original cost + £25 summons fee + £55 warrant issue fee).
    The Bed Shop (or Glacier Furniture Ltd) now have a CCJ against them which should help their credit situation no end

    Incidentally I have an issue with Vodafone where they wouldn't replace a faulty handset and have just issued a summons against them too.

    I love this stuff. The small claims system is perfect to combat the injustices forced upon us by monolithic and/or disorganised and/or naughty organisations. I've used it multiple times and haven't lost yet.

  • I placed an order for Bunk beds on the 15th January 2009 - as of today - 20 April 2009 still no beds. Their website stated 14 days gauranteed delivery and I have sent them screenshots. they claim its 14 days once they are ready to ship... go figure. they have constantly lied to me in emails and on their support website. They are offering a refund now but 3 months on my daughter is still sleeping withough a proper bed and I dont want to have to wait another 1 or 2 months for another company to deliver? PLEASE DO NOT EVER ORDER THROUGH THESE COWBOYS.
    I am about to go on an internet wide review and log as many compaints and bad reviews aout them as possibel.

    I placed an order for a bunk bed in Dec 08 - chased up once before delivery finally came. Bunk bed ladders soon fell apart and in doing so scratched the wood + the mattresses we ordered were good quality but were too high for the bed safety rails.

    Subsequently have emailed The Bed Shop approximately 15 times trying to get either replacements (agreed date of delivery - failed to deliver - chased up - no stock left in Joseph) and in the end decided to return the bed. They would not refund until Joseph collected - again 'within 2 weeks' bed will be picked up - various more calls to TBS (not interested Josepsh issue to collect) until picked up 4 weeks later.

    Currently at the stage of waiting to get the refund from TBS - now 3 weeks since Joseph collected - TBS assured me payment would be immediate after collection.

    In summary ordered in Dec 08 and now end of April - whilst bed has gone I have still not got any money back.

    What a poor business this place is - I would recommend you do not go near this company. I will be visiting their premises shortly to collect my refund one way or the other. Also appreciate someone else's comments regarding contacting the Trading Standards. DO NOT TRADE WITH THIS COMPANY !!! You have been warned:mad:




    I wish I had read this before ordering with these clowns. First they debited my card twice (thankfully refunded).

    It is now 7 weeks since my order for a bunk bed (Joseph International - supplier) and i am still waiting. The phone is constantly engaged and their store number is dead - not a good sign. I have emailed and told them i am contacting Liverpool Trading Standards and want to cancel my order as i didnt think my kids would be sleeping on mattresses on the bedroom floor for this long!!!!!

    Stay well clear of these cowboys!!!!!!!!:mad:

    P.S. Just got the particulars of the Director through Companies House so he'll be getting a nice letter on Monday
