Well done for writing that & don't feel too bad, at least you have realised

I know what you mean about looking forward to spending less. When I went bankrupt, I enjoyed the fact that I couldn't spend money I didn't have, and it was such a relief..
Best of luck, and stick to your plan x

Well, just typed a post and it's disappeared into the ether.
Many thanks for all the Happy Anniversary wishes today; they have been really welcome.
RedRuby - fancy you remembering about my nephew! Yes, he is the same one who lost his lovely Mum when he was just three years old; she was only 43 - I still can't really believe it although that was six and a half years ago now. He is doing really well and is almost fluent in French. He loves school - after an understandably shaky start - and has made lots of friends, something I am really pleased about because, where they lived in the UK, he had no local children to play with and spent all his time with the grown-ups. He is really thriving and he and his Dad have a good relationship. His Dad deals with all the questions about his Mum as and when they arise. He was so excited about Uncle Mioliere's visit; he loves him dearly and, as my DH is completely mad and acts like a four year old, he's is great company for a child!
Dazi and Pooky's DH - what rotten experiences re your interviews. Time for new agencies all round, I think.
Well, I have made fruit baskets to take as pudding when I go to DS2's for dinner a bit later. I bought a really tasty melon, sliced it in half, scooped out the flesh and mixed it with local strawberries, sliced grapes and a spoonful of honey and spooned it back into the halves. They look lovely. My serving is in a knickerbocker glory glass because I couldn't get three baskets out of one melon! I am taking some double cream to have with it.
Jayward - I made the dough and made my first loaf with it. It turned out really salty even though I used the stated sea salt in the correct amount. I asked on the Artisan thread if I could reduce the amount of salt next time and the OP said he uses less than the recipe states. I also forgot to put the dish of water in the oven with the bread. I tasted it when it was burning hot because I couldn't wait, so I may need to taste it now that it's cooled down!
Anyway, I suppose I'd better go and get ready for my evening at DS2's and his bride-to-be so I'll see you all later. Have a great evening.
