Still waiting to find out which carrier supposedly has impeccable service?
http://www.airlinequality.com/StarRanking/5star.htm
5 Star status recognizes airlines at the forefront of product and service achievement, that generally set trends to be followed by other carriers.
A 5 Star ranking recognises highest standard of Product across the different quality assessment categories, and consistently high standards of Staff Service delivery in Onboard and Airport environments.
The World's 5 Star Airlines ®Asiana Airlines
Cathay Pacific Airways
Kingfisher Airlines
Malaysia Airlines
Qatar Airways
Singapore Airlines
Being voted best amongst airline carriers is like being voted the least offensive smelling turd. How Qatar can get 5 stars is beyond me. Doha airport is a medium sized public lavatory filled with smokers.0 -

None of those fly transatlantic.
By the way Asiana has one of the world's worst safety records...by far.0 -
ok i got bored of reading all the replies (sorry people - only just came across this thread and couldnt be bothered to read 5 pages worth!)
Firstly, i generally dont stick up for cabin crew, i worked at EMA as a PSA and generally the two groups dont mix however thought id just add to these repliesOfficer_Dibble wrote: »A few years ago, they managed to serve a friend I was flying with halal chicken instead of vegetarian food because one of their ticks had gone astray. there wasnt actually anything that could be done - all meals are prepared days before the flight and they dont carry "extras" on board unless some passengers havent turned up. At boarding the gate - when your all sat in your seats wondering what the hold up is - the people who have done the check in and boarding print off the stats for cabin personnel - which include flight meals and where they belong - such as your friends veggie meal. the info comes from the travel agents, not check in, not cabin crew. Your friend should of checked at check in whether they had a "special meal" (as they are reffered to) but even then the only thing that could possibly of been done is a voucher to spend in the airside shop to buy some food with.themightyjack wrote: »The bottom line is she was asked to do something and conveniently "forgot" if she didn't want to do her job, then she should have said she didn't want to do it instead of saying yes.themightyjack wrote: »I dont forget things at work, and I dont need to be asked the same thing three times, and on top of that I dont get surly with the people who use my company thus putting money in my pocket.
you can not possibly compare your job to that of cabin crew - it will be COMPLETLEY different. Being asked to send a fax and being asked to keep an eye on a drunken passenger as they seem to be getting agitated and could possibly be violtent is too VERY different situations. You said they were all "standing about" and talking. did it EVER occur to you that they had been given certain information that related to the flight and they needed to discuss it? breech of security/problems at the airport etc?0 -

People still use Faxes in this day and age?0 -

Some will but the point was that your job probably won't compare!
I wouldn't mind putting money on that assumption myself either.0 -
So what, its just a flight.
Get over it.
Maybe the cabin crew just didnt like the OP, no harm in that.
Get real people.0 -

Once again there is a post off yourself being all defensive and quiet simply - sarcastic. I'm beginning to understand why - if the cabin crew ignored you intentionally - they did this0 -
themightyjack... it would be handy if you could provide the flight number and if not your departure and arrival airport for the problematic flight.....also do you know what type of aircraft it was ?0

You obviously have no idea of what is involved in being a Cabin Crew member for an airline. I was crew for 11 years for a few airlines and the job is far from being a "glorified waitresses in the sky" it's quite insulting when you have no idea about the role. How would you feel if it was your sister/wife/niece that someone referred to as that. The bottom line is she was asked to do something and conveniently "forgot" if she didn't want to do her job, then she should have said she didn't want to do it instead of saying yes
I am sure she didn't "conveniently forget" you were not the only passenger on that flight, there were quite a few others. Any number of requests could have been made to her between leaving you and reaching the galley, difficult to remember them all if asked for quite a few different things. You have no idea what else she had been asked for or perhaps her Purser asked her to do something import of a safety nature ........ you just don't know but are very quick to slate her. What did the Purser or CSD have to say when you complained about her?
I have a child and would not wait 45 minutes for a drink to arrive, like a few others I would have gone to the galley and asked within a few minutes.
Posting here is inviting others for their opinions but it would seem that you are not happy with the opinions that others have expressed. No doubt you won't be happy with what I have had to say either.
Over the years I was crew I dealt with many passengers with a bad attitude and who had no respect for the crew. These passengers were the ones made to wait for things while the friendly and respectful passengers were served first.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

This point has now been made several times. I suggested this to the op but he wouldn't have it.
The service you receive will reflect your attitude to the person serving you. Some seem to be convinced theres nothing wrong with their attitudes but this seems to happen to them all the time. If thats the case, then that person probably lacks self awareness.0
