I dout very much they were serving beer the whole time, do you?!
Well i dont know how long your arms are? coz theres no way i could be on the phone to the flight deck in the galley to check they are ok & then with my otherarm stretch it row 30 to give someone a glass of water. If someone could do that ( both at once) i'd love to meet them!

Also i dont think its about being under staffed but about time management, you can not have 1 crew member for each passenger and so thats why sometimes just sometimes a crew member may forget a drink order or to bring someone a pillow.

so you really believe she 'forgot' 3 times, you must be a real saint. Maybe the OP did or did not give her attitude but their request was clear an simple a glass of water which would have taken just minutes to sort out, but she choose not to, hardly professional.

Exactly! If she had done it the first time, we wouldn't be having this debate. Perhaps if I started leering at her, being rude to her and demanded beer she would have given some kind of service!

I hear that they have some rivals with impeccable service....

Who? And please don't say Virgin Atlantic or any US carrier!

Interestingly, The mighty Jack, You say you "Have JUST flown back" with BA.

Were you posting on this site every day you were away? Because you posted for approx a week before you started this thread. So unless you spent every day of your trip on the internet on this website, I deduce that this whole thread is a fabrication. Conjured up to provoke people...

OR, Benefit of the doubt; Maybe you went away for a day. Then the flight would have been around 1 hour. IN which case, there is no way you could possibly have waited 45 minutes for water. Crew have about 30mins working time max during a 1 hour flight, so you would have been served a drink during this time.

    What say you?

'However, often a characteristic of those companies with appalling service is there is a culture of staff blaming customers for the bad service they receive.'

I think our air crew contributer, superflygal, has illustrated the point better than I could.

Customers do lie though! They can only blame themselves for that!

    You've quoted yourself.

So your basically saying you're agreeing with you!

Why have I suddenly started thinking of George Bush's speeches?

I hear very good things about Emirates and Singapore Airlines. Perhaps they can teach B.A a thing or two about hospitality.

The fact is, when you fly long-haul back to Britain, you are immediately greeted by the 1980s like carpets of Heathrow and funneled into possibly the worst immigrations hall in the world.

The sandwiches on the short flights just remind you of the 99p discounted sandwiches from Sainsburys...

Last time I flew BA back from Sweden, the flight was delayed 5 hours to and 2 hours back from Stockholm, without any food or drink...

At Heathrow, the BA customer services guy just told everyone to f**k themselves...
