Budget Gas and West Wales Gas are NOT independents but wholly owned subsidiaries of Calor. Currently (26.04.14) Budget Gas has TWO .co.uk websites: BudgetGas and BudgetHyphenGas, but only one says it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Calor. Both websites have the same logo for Budget Gas.

MSE wouldn't let me post a complete list of suppliers as it was more than 25,000 characters long. Here are the major bulk LPG suppliers in England, Wales and Scotland:
Majors (have just under 90% of the bulk LPG ‘market’: I believe the approx. figures are Calor ~50%, Flogas ~30%, Avantigas ~10% ).
Calor:
http://www.calor.co.uk/
also owns Budget Gas (and West Wales Gas) (West Midlands, Potteries, Welsh Borders, Wales):
http://budgetgas.co.uk/
http://budget-gas.co.uk/
Flogas:
http://www.flogas.co.uk/
also owns MacGas (ex-BP, and now part of DCC/Flogas):
http://www.macgas.co.uk/
Avantigas:
http://www.avantigas.com/
If you've found this post via a search engine - and are looking for cheap / cheaper bulk LPG - or the best deal for a new 2 year contract and a switch of supplier - please also check BOTH the preceding post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=65362800&postcount=2273 AND the next post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=65363261&postcount=2275

Transparent prices from independents (the first three are used on the charts HateLPG posts - the latest is http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=65280161&postcount=2266 )
Extra Fuel (new price fixed for each month):
http://www.extrafuel.co.uk/
Lister Gases in the Malvern Hills DC area (new price fixed for each month):
http://www.malvernhills.gov.uk/cms/communications/news/2012/october/lpg fuel deal.aspx
Cardiff Gas:
http://cardiffgas.wordpress.com/about/
Lister Gases ANSI tracker (new price fixed for each month):
http://www.listergases.co.uk/anti.aspx
LPGas Wales Direct:
http://www.lpgaswalesdirect.co.uk/
Carver Gases (publishes a ‘list price’, gives a discount off this – but seems to have a high annual tank rental charge):
http://www.carvergases.co.uk/
&
Lima Gas …which posts its average price but you need to fill in a box to get their latest monthly price emailed to you:
http://www.limagas.co.uk/quotation.php
The prices today are Lima 38, Cardiff Gas 43, Lister ANSI Tracker 43.68, Extra Fuel 45.48, Carver 45.8 and LPG Wales Direct 49.5. Some of these suppliers also offer fixed price deals. Some have minimum volume requirements, and the tank rental cost varies. If you own your own tank you should get a better price. Most suppliers adjust their price each month depending on the wholesale price.

td_100 posted a good report about Lima Gas in January when their price was 42ppl(http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=64533441&postcount=2225 ) and Lpgnewbie posted that their price had come down since, so I emailed them. This is the reply I got yesterday from Mark White, the sales manager:
Current Tracker Price today is 38ppl we are happy for you to post this on MSE website.
Average price Jan to Dec 2013 41.25ppl
Average Price May 2013 to April 2014 39.75ppl.
This is based on our tracker prices which goes up and down monthly based on the price we buy at from the refinery.
I have calculated the average on the actual prices we charged out at, month on month divided by 12.
Our pricing is transparent so everyone who has an account with us can log in and see our price anytime, all customers who are on tracker price pay the same regardless of tenure, ie whether they are brand new or been with us for one, two or even five years old is charged the same ie for April 2014 that is 38ppl.
I am not aware of any other company that does this.
Lima's website: http://www.limagas.co.uk/about.php
People might like to compare Lima's average prices with the prices on HateLPG's chart: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=65280161&postcount=2266 (and with the prices they are paying, if that's not too painful).
(that's enough posts from LV for a while!)0 -
Does anybody here use Novagas? They are based in Ashford, Kent. They are also part of Rose Gas now I believe.
I am looking to switch suppliers, or at least reduce Calor's extortionate rates, and have requested quotes from Avantigas and Limagas. But I was a bit put off Nova by their "jokey" website. What are they like to deal with?
Any other good companies that serve Kent?If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -
Hmm, always happy to give new posters a chance, but that does sound awfully like an advertisement, lewi2014.
It is not a service I would use. Where does their money come from? Why doesn't their website say?
On edit.. this advert has now been deleted by the mods, quite right too.. if he'd been a bit more honest and said who he was representing, I wouldn't have mindedIf what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0 -

TBH, though, whilst the lack of the legally required business details on this site makes me wonder if it's a front for one of the big boys, the WhoIs for the domain makes it sound much more as if it's some naive individual trying to build himself a business.whois switchmylpg.co.uk

I switched to FloGas from Calor. The deal was 41p per litre fixed for 12 months and £150 credit which was the the best quote I had received. I read this forum from time to time and can't remember reading this method of switching LPG supplier so I thought I would post it. Thanks for all the great information on this forum.0

May's figures for your enjoyment.
Not sure what's going on at Malvern Hills DC -the prices are usually posted here and updated in the early part of the month, but there has been no change since March this year. They have, however modified their page to readThe agreement states that any eligible household will be charged a price at a fixed margin above the Argus North Sea Index wholesale price. People switching to Lister Gases would have to sign up for two years, which is the standard length of contract with an LPG supplier. For the first month of a contract starting in March 2014 the standard price would be 41.50 pence per litre (excluding VAT) (for using over 2500 litres per year).
Each month thereafter a new price, based on tracking the latest wholesale price, will be fixed for the following month but will still be at the fixed margin above the wholesale price.
So, my guess is that Listers don't really like the information being published as it exposes key pricing data/indeces to non-contract customers, and are therefore following the Industry-standard route that we all know and love of stating that the price is index-linked to an index that we mere mortals cannot access!
But since we DO have the index, I am almost minded to add NEW line representing what the Malvern price OUGHT to be!
Anyway, here is the important bit:0
