Our supplier has sold their business to another supplier. The new company has sent us a form to fill in with our bank details etc, but no mention of the ppl we will have to pay. (t&c small print just says price will be that which applies on date of delivery). We had just recently negotiated a fixed price with the original company and switched to them from Flo-gas.
Before we contact the new people, do they have to honour the fixed price agreement we had with our original supplier? I don't want to go off half cocked. TIA!Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

Yes, there's a whole raft of legal time could be wasted with whether they should or must or ought to honour the contract, but really it's much more simple than that in practice.
Either they honour the contract - complete with price fix - or they don't honour the contract - so no lock-in period for you. Their choice...0 -
Hi All,
We have recently moved into a house with an LPG tank which is owned by Calor but not under contract. The contractual rate we have been offered by Calor is dreadful so we don't want to stay with them. The cheapest contract we have been offered is with flogas, but having read reviews on this site they don't seem like a good option so at the
Moment our preferred company is Cardiff gas, but it is much cheaper with them if you own your own tank. Does anybody else own there own tank and is this the most cost effective way to buy LPG? We would really like to move the tank so presumably if we own it this would be much easier?
Any advice greatly received as we are new to LPG!
Thank you!0 -
Just noticed that Lister Gases are offering an ANSI tracker deal in addition to their standard price, current price (fixed on the 1st of the month) is 48.43ppl + vat, which is about 2ppl more than the Malvern Hills DC deal that they supply, details at

Interesting to read the Questions and Answers, no. 1 is:-
Q. Why have Lister Gases Limited launched this product?
A. Since the changes required by the Competition Commission came into force a few years ago making it easier for Domestic heating customers to change suppliers, we have seen a large increase in ‘Special Offers’ by the larger suppliers who are trying to increase their customer base. The offers appear very attractive, but unfortunately in most cases they really are too good to be true.0 -

Current prices on the web (if you know any others please post!):
Lister (Malvern Hills DC deal) 46.81

Cardiff Gas ............................ 47

LPGas Wales Direct.................52.5

Extra Fuel's price is a national price (they get others to deliver but you pay Extra Fuel's price. If you're in their delivery area, around Manchester, they might have a better deal). The other prices are for the company's delivery area except that the cheaper Lister price is only for people living in Malvern Hills DC. Maybe your local council might do a similar deal, if you ask? MHDC has done much of the spadework (with a little help from this forum) and has had enquiries from other councils about how it works.

Hi
I am at the end of my Avanti contract and looking to move to a smaller independent LPG Bulk Domestic supplier. Does anyone have any experience of Rose Gas and Lima Gas?..Just spoken to John Rose (Rose Gas). He's going to match the Avanti price. I'm going to give them a try and will advise the forum how I get on.
No-one has mentioned using Lima Gas - though at least two have talked to them as potential future customers. And only ironnick has mentioned signing up to Rose Gas, back in June 2012 - so should have a good idea by now.
Sorry - not much help but hope someone doing a web search for a cheap LPG supplier in Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Wiltshire, Dorset, Surrey, southern England (etc, etc!) finds this and can help.

Have just received a renewal agreement for Calor telling me that I have benefitted from their tariff below their standard rate and the price from 01st March would be 55.9p. I have been contacted by Calor to try and keep my custom who offered me 42p and £150 worth of free gas but would not agree to the second year price increases so I decided to stick with my 38p fixed for one year through a local MacGas Community scheme with £75 worth of free gas.
Although I am changing over mid February I needed a top up. Calor offered me 600 litres instead of the normal 1,000 minimum fill which I have never been offered before.:T0 -
Off on a tangent.
But is LPG generally cheaper than gas??0
