Bulk LPG - Cheapest suppliers / supply route?

May I just say thank you to all on this forum who have just helped me to fill my LPG tank for under 370 quid. I cannot remember it ever being that 'cheap'. (I also can't remember the last time I could afford a full tank of fuel!)
Transferred to Callow fuels. Bit cheeky in that the fix is up in April (43p), even though I signed contract a year ago, due to them suddenly becoming picky (law abiding?) over walls and old pipes after my signing the contract. But mostly my fault for not being able to find a builder quick enough to carry out their demands. So it's taken an age to actually get a tank in to fill.
Still, I'm a generally happier and warmer bunny.
A huge thank you and wishing you clever people a Happy New Year.
Sincere thanks

Just filled up with 1200 litres @45ppl from my friendly local supplier HBS. They've now held this price for the past 2 years.0

Thanks to Mister G, shower of roses and everyone else who is sharing their latest "pricing intelligence" (not forgetting our very own LittleVermin for his sterling posts): it is just this sort of information that makes this thread so useful to others struggling to pay the usurious prices still demanded from some by the (mainly larger) LPG suppliers.
Here's wishing all fellow LPG-ers a toasty and economical New Year :beer:0 -

Just to add I sent my previous post to my gas supplier and they gave me £50 off my next delivery for my positive comment. Plus they have told me that if I recommend someone we both get £100.00 off our first delivers. Shame I don't know anyone near me with a tank.0 -

At a 100 quid for each referral, it would almost be worth keeping your eyes open as you're out and about and randomly knocking on doors whenever you see a tank in the garden - especially if it has a Flogas, Avanti or Calor sticker on it.
I doubt many people would complain (if they do, it's probably their loss!), and you might even get to make some new friends :j0 -

Thanks, heather8. I'll post a revised list in 2 weeks so good to have more comments, please, on service and prices (ideally over a 2 yr contract, but all prices help so we can compare with HateLPG's charts e g. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=63993177&postcount=2171).....they have told me that if I recommend someone we both get £100.00 off our first delivers. Shame I don't know anyone near me with a tank.
Most companies will do this - so if you post a comment someone coming to the end of their contract (or a new user) may see your comment for a potential supplier and you could both benefit. But of course the supplier will need a real name rather than just a username: time for a pm (private message)!

So lots of forum users have been out and about today, January 1st, 'first-footing', not with the traditional bit of coal but with the list* of independent LPG suppliers, offering cheaper bulk LPG (? the cheapest bulk LPG) for their neighbours' bulk tanks?
Maybe even suggesting a buying consortium? See mbday's post from 2010 about his consortium of 16 users:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=38832310&postcount=369
..and subsequent posts.
For introductions companies offer a range of inducements: £100 for both existing and new customers seems tops....maybe someone has heard of higher. Companies will also offer 'golden hellos' of free gas - £100, £150...worth asking if you are looking to switch bulk LPG suppliers!
Anyone been looking for bulk tanks on Google Earth? Remember, according to UKLPG's Code of Practice, the tank must be visible from the tanker when being filled, mustn't be overshadowed by trees or powerlines, must be x metres from ...etc, etc. Yes, I can see the tank in my garden on Google Earth but I doubt if I'll be searching for other bulk LPG tanks anytime soon!

When Flo took our old tank away, they told us we'd get 50% of the "new" price back for the contents they could recover.
...which reminds me, I've heard nothing more...
A few comments about Flogas on Trustpilot here:
http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.flogas.co.uk
In fact 26 reviews, quite a few comments on those reviews ..and an overall rating of 3.3, on a scale of 0-10. Many reviews are about customer service, some about prices which only go upwards irrespective of bulk prices.
Calor, of the other major LPG suppliers, only has one review.0 -

Welcome to the forum - and glad you've found it useful..and are now a warmer bunny with extra money in your pocket (do rabbits have pockets?).
Tanks are installed to meet the industry's (i.e. UKLPG's) Codes of Practice (COP). The COP are available, for a price, from UKLPG (http://www.uklpg.org/shop/codes-of-practice/bulk-lpg-storage-at-fixed-installations-for-domestic-purposes-january-2000/) ..and I doubt if any user has purchased a copy of the latest edition! So it would be very useful to forum users if you told us, please, what the situation was with your tank originally, and what Callow got you to do (and who paid for it).
Problems with tanks seem to be an increasing reason for people being unable to switch - judging by posts on this forum.
Of course, any comments about Callow useful too!

The 5-star reviews make interesting reading too - one is about availability of gas cylinders (not bulk LPG) and the remainder are so fulsome that (IMHO) they could not possibly have been posted by "real" Flogas customers!
[Which, by my calculations, gives a "corrected" rating of just under 2.2/10, with the minimum possible rating being 2.0 /10. Nuff said.]0
