    Mornin all

really foggy here today, so i won't be venturing far!

angelnikki please can i declare i've spent £166.12 out of £200 so that's £34 going in me sealed tin :T

can you put me down for £50 a week again please, as well? and well done again for all your hard work this month....you've been an angel :A helping Mrs Mc out

i think this month has been helped by the fact that i had 2 freezers chocka-full of stuff, and i was able to only buy top-up stuff. Plus DS15 hasn't wanted to sit down for proper meals, cos he dashes in from seeing his mates for 10mins, wolfs something quick down (pasta, omelettes etc) and is then back out of the door again!!

i've got to wait in this morning for the dog clipper lady....she's coming to shave Ruby's tummy so she's ready for when she has the pups.....so i'll probably try and get some baking done

Need to do some dough in the BM for buns, and i'll probably make some choc chip muffins if i can motivate myself  when the weather's all dreary outside, i can never find any enthusiasm

well, hope you have all have a good day, hugs to anyone who needs one , and especially for IfOnlyItWasEasier ....keep your chin up chick, hopefully you'll find another job in no time xx

What a good idea. I was going to start using www.mysupermarket.com and see who was cheaper on what, as MrA, MrT & MrS are quite close to me, so I could go to the cheapest for each item... not sure if I would though, but at least I would have a list with the prices on when I went (espec for Lidls and Aldi)...

mysupermarket is definitely worth a look. I have started using it and Mr T almost always comes out cheapest for me. On the odd occasion that Mr A is cheaper, it's always been because they don't sell something I selected from Mr T and it has been replaced by some random alternative that I wouldn't buy! It has also done wonders for my OH's supermarket snobbery - If I sent him out to get anything he would insist on going to Mr S, but they normally come up as being about 10% more expensive than Mr T. I always told him they were dearer, but now he can see it for himself.

Just about to print my list off for a trip to Mr T later this morning. Big shop to do lots of stocking up. Mysupermarket shows it's £95.17 at Mr T, £99.75 at Mr A or £105.95 at Mr S  Guess which one I'm going to!

Thanks for the heads up on the NOTW voucher mumofjusttwo, I'll pick one up while I'm out :D

Morning all - another beautiful day here.

Thanks Mumofjusttwo for the info about the NOTW voucher - as they say "every little helps!!"

I would recommend mysupermarket anyday of the week! I go on there - fill my trolley ands usually Mr T comes up cheapest - then I print off my shopping list - take it with me, into the shop, blinkers on and away I go - have shaved £15-£20 off my shopping for the last however many weeks just by not buying junk!!

Anyway - total up to today is £177.14 out of £200 budget - just got to get to Thursday and will declare final total.

Have a good day all and enjoy the sunshine

    Hi All
well after the 15th july everything went weird for me, i've not been able to keep up with the thread so have probably missed loads of great tips and recipes. My sons birthday party went well and i was very proud that the majority of the food was homemade. i made his birthday cake myself this year too, first time ever :o ....although a little untidy on the icing it was a big hit _party_

I had caught a glimpse that Mrs M is back, Welcome back and hope you are well

I am declaring July at £262.12 which wasn't bad with a party to pay for and although not on here i have been keeping to the HM food and careful shopping.
Target for august please will be £250 was going to lower it but with the kids on holiday they are going to eat me out of house & home no doubt, so i will be happy if i can stick to that and will start lowering it when the kids go back to school.

Well must get on, i do hope everyone is well and hugs :grouphug: to those who would like one
Enjoy your day everyone & take care
    Anita xx

    Morning,
Misty here and I am not feeling too hot (again, but a different reason this time lol).
Tried to use HM bread/rolls this morning that had been frozen then defrosted overnight, but it was all crumbly and yuck :o - anyone any idea why this happened ? The bread I made at the same time and used without freezing was fine though.
SC pork curry for dinner, its all on and cooking away. Having with cous cous and onion bajis :D . Mmmmmmmm.
I am envious of you who can all compare supermarkets and go to Asda, Morry's, Aldi etc. I have said it before and I will say it again, it is so much harder when there is only a wee Tesco, Lidl or the Coop. I am trying to automatically shut out any mention of all these cheap deals so I don't end up screaming lol  (I know others need to hear about them though so am not for one minute thinking the posts should not be there  ). I am still pleased to be trying so hard to keep our grocery costs down but also facing up to the fact that we will never be able to get it as low as some peeps can cos there is just not the same choice on deals here. Never mind, there are pros of living here (I think  ).
Anyway hope you all have a MS day and well done again this month.

Edited to say, yesterday was another NSD, only 4 more to do until Thur starts the new month (and its my birthday tomorrow)

    Morning...not stopping you'll be pleased to hear:p

    1. MrM budget tinned toms are like those described in the other post, & especially handy if you're not close to MrA:mad:
    2. Totally bombed out on the home veggie garden for this year:( but determined to do much, MUCH better next year.
    3. Declaring July as £287:43+bits I've inevitably missed off cuz of Pup being poorly again this month. My new month has already started, so please put me down for £350 for August....one of the offspring has a b'day so gifts & choice of celebratory meal to come out of that:o
    4. First day of the new challenge was NSD:j but I definately need milk today.

    Have a good one peeps.

  • morning all,

thank you for the kind thoughts and words, i'm off to apply for a few jobs this afternoon (online) and will call the JC in the morning.

had my Hen do last night, and am so tired, but not hungover, lots of sangria and cocktails :D
OH however is back in bed, he was given many many cocktails and arrived home with a half eaten burger, yet neither of us spent anything :D

so i'm going to check he's not spent anything i don't know about already and declare later today.

Hi and well done everyone I am declaring £219.57 this month so just scrapped in! Please but me down for £220 for August, got treated to a easiyo yogurt maker in the julian greaves half price sale so hopefully that will bring down shopping a bit, kept some old yogurt pots for dishing homemade stuff into other wise my lot wont have any size of portion control and it wouldnt work out cheaper! Next month will be more difficult as I am away last week ds2 is coming with me (self catering) dh will be with us both weekends but at home during the week so I will also have to leave food for him and dd, lots of planning to do, help maybe needed please:D

Believe me, you would hate living where I live - we do have a choice of shops but the hemmed in feeling and hassles far outweigh those choices, so I would def rather be on your island... (grass is always greener eh! :D )

And :bdaycake: Happy Birthday for tomorrow :bdaycake: (you thought we'd missed that eh! :D )
