    mornin all

oooh orkneystar you HAVE to have a go at the iced buns :D they really are gorgeous, and very more-ish!! as soon as i've got room in the freezer i'm gonna make some more, as 24 is a bit too many to eat in one day :rotfl:

am off into town this morning, just to get a pair of slippers and some milk, but other than that, i don't need anything else.

Am off to put the BM on in a mo for some rolls for lunch....DS15 eats 4 or 6 every day  TBH i'm glad he prefers them to the shop bought ones....saves me a small fortune!

right am off to wake everyone up with the hoover now :p hope everyone has a good day......only a few days left till the end of the challenge xx
  • Hello

Declaring £251.57 for July just over the £250 budget so happy with that. Due to other overspending though I am having to cut August and aim for £200 with me luck.

    Morning all

Denise.. Nikki is being wonderful and keeping hold of the grocery challenge for now...bless her - im getting back into the swing of thigs -but have the attention span of a gnat at the moment and would hate to make a mess of the lists :o especially after the super organised version Nilli is doing :D

Well folks just a quick one as im off to the DRs soon, by some miracle i managed to stay the same weight whilst i was back home for 3 weeks.. with some of the stuff i was eating i don't know how  but after my 1st week back I have lost 5.5lbs :j .... and managed to cram more good stuff (seeds/nuts etc)into me too .... so im a happy bunny..

After the Drs we should be off to the NAFFI..will try and be strong -but it depends on the "whoopsies" on offer ;) .... then i think i will nip into aldi to top up my fruit/yogurt
Hubby should get paid around today..so i will be starting my new budget soon but i still have the €61 in my purse that has been there since last friday -so i will be using some of that :D
right folks i will get off and have my brekkie..have a great day everyone :D

Well done MrsM on you weight loss :T I have found since doing GC that I haven't put on too much with this pregnancy and thats with all the cakes I now bake.

Hoping for a NSD as it is too hot here to go out and we have an air show so roads are hell.

Going to try and put BM on and bulk cooking whilest DD is at childminders.

    Have a good day everyone.

    morning all

gillaman I have tried putting things in it with no flavour but he still knows ,,, the flavour is still different or the texture so I ahve given up trying to get him to eat any other

NSD for me. For anyone who has a lot in the freezer I can highly recommend doing and inventory and sticking it on the fridge. Being able to see what's buried in the depths of the freezers has been a huge help in using stuff up and constructing meals. Going to do the cupboards in time for next month, see what we can liberate from lurking in those dark recesses
Orkney Star I read your post and it reminded me to make a freezer inventory but where do you put everything while you do it the time I take it will all defrost

thanks for reminding me to do an inventory but what do you do with the frozen food while you are doing it the time it takes me to do anything it will all be defrosted,,,, as at the moment its full and I cant find anything

Well I'm off now to get breakfast

    see you soon

    Morning all!

Quick update, spent £17.09 in mrT last night. Next week's shopping comes out of this month's money too, but am fairly confident that I'm going to come in within budget despite having set myself a four-week budget for a five-week month :D

Hopefully will get a chance to catch up with some of the posts later, but congrats/hugs as necessary.

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Can I just say that one of the reasons I think that the thread is so long and it's so difficult to keep up is that some people are not staying on post and seem to combine the gc stuff with other non gc stuff. I know I am sometimes among them and I know that when you have problems to solve it is great to unload here and get everyone's support, but I don't think this is really the place to discuss favourite tv programmes and film stars etc! Sorry if that sounds boring and/or critical - but there are other threads where you can chat to your hearts content. It seems to me that some people have been put off from contributing to this thread since it became more chatty as there are several I have not seen posting for some time. Sorry if I have offended any one - I don't mean to be mean.

Good luck everyone for the end of the month - not far too go now - and hugs for all those of you who are struggling.

Many thanks Moniker, I agree and couldn't put it better.

  • I am over this month and the damage may be even worse as I think a reciept or two may have not been added. OH sometimes throws away the small ones for milk, F&V etc. but these can mount up over the month.
Will declare 235.71 for July and start today with new budget for Aug.
I have definately saved a fortune since doing this challenge and got OH involved. I didn't realise how much he was chucking out at the end of each week. Now he leaves it to me and I can make at least another 2 meals for four of us with the oddments left in the fridge.

    Justa quick update on spends...
75p on an onion and a pepper and 54p  on a pint of milk.
    Sig has been updated.

I did make a massive veggie chilli last night though and have at least 2 (if not 3) portions leftover. I'll probably have one for tea tonight.

Away tomorrow visiting a friend but back on Sunday when I'll have to do a shop for veg and fruit to last the week until Friday when I declare for this month - it'll be tight but I might just make it.....

    Have a good day!
