Hello everyone,
Just wanted to share that I actually made roast dinner yesterday. I roasted the chicken, made my own yorkshire puddings and had enough veg to go round. Also made my own roast parsnips and added some maple syrup to it with sesame seeds.
I also made some chicken stock from the carcass which I've never done before and will be making soup from that. Fingers crossed it all turns out Ok. With the rest of the chicken we're having chicken in gravy with courgette and mushroom thrown in - all together in a casserole dish ( I discovered MIL had bought us a le creuset(sp?) dish for our wedding 5 years ago!)
Well, that's two successes in the kitchen!!! :T'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'

angelnikki wrote: »Thanks zoe xxx We've been arguing already  he does my head in so much. We do still live together (seperately) but hardly spend much time together as when he is home from work and at weekends I normally stay in my room and leave him to look after DS (I miss DS loads
when I'm not with him but cant stand his father so much so have to avoid him)
I would love to be able to move out but I just wouldnt have enough money to afford everything and DS's nursery (cant look after him all week as I've got ME) without DLA and cant get DLA without a proper diagnosis (and even then its unlikely I will get it) So I'm stuck hereuntil either I can find a way to have enough money or until DS gets free childcare (which will be after he's 3, he's 21 months atm)
oh well...
I've got my first appointment with the ME clinic in the beginning of september(even though I was referred to see them last october  ) So hopefully I can get something in writing from them to aid a DLA claim. Fingers crossed.
To stay on thread... I've got a MrT delivery coming tonight 7-9 so will update my sig later.
Take care everyone

I couldnt find them prices online, must be starting today
Mixed chopped nuts 17p/100gin MrT or 76p/200g
(so 100g are about the same price/100g as the MrA roll back)
Ground Almonds £1.07/100g or 90p/200g
I love MrT's pricing - sooo straight forward :rolleyes::A0 -
The mixed nuts and ground almonds are both 150g packs.

Yup - 50ml/gm? tube of Colgate toothpaste was 87p - 100gm/ml was 83p - guess which I bought?!:rotfl: :rotfl:
They so-ooo often do stuff like that in there - ALWAYS worth checking their prices per 100gm on products - bigger is quite often NOT better value!!
We are perilously close to busting the budget this month - but both freezers and all cupboards are still fit to burst - I must not buy any more food - particularly flour!!:D

Uh-oh...:embarasse...been to MrT & Lidl today plus our little independant discount place today, then yesterday was Iceland & a couple of fruit shops. Damage is £65:78 all told_pale_
Our Lidl has the condensed milk [for the bounty bites or banoffee pie] at £1:18 or 2-4-£2 & bread flour still 48p...different wrapper tho, so hope it's still as good as the other stuff:o
Iceland had After Eight & Munchies ice cream bars £2 ea BOGOF; good deal on bacon rashers @ £3 for 600g; multipacks of crisps with X% extra
MrT had deals on salad packs---I know! I know!, but I needed rocket or watercress for the Iggie& a pack of unwashed rocket was 50p; savoy cabbage 50p; med cauli 78p......plus---rather strange this one---MrT Daily Care toothpaste ok?..100ml=34p 50ml=38p
Go Figure:p

Be careful with the £/100g though cos I've found loads of errors on this. Esp with meat. So its best to calculate it for yourself.
I'll post examples of errors on this later if I have time...

angelnikki wrote: »They are a bit like cheese scones aren't they? Mine always rise really nicely, sometimes they're a bit like puff pastry but that may be due to rerolling after the first cutting of shapes IYSWIM. If the dough is too wet add more flour. (if they were wet after cooking then they prob needed a bit longer) If it's too dry add more milk
I love them and they were great for when DS had a bad cold as they were the only thing he would eat. Yummy Yummy never last more than a few hours in this house
(I've normally eaten half before they've even cooled)
Edit - had to go make some after seeing yours OrkneyStar NomNomNom I only used 50g cheese cos thats all that there was already grated (still got 20 from the mix though)
