I've now stopped counting, i dont think i'm too much over but i have bulk bought a fair amount of stuff, so as of next month my budget will be split. £175 for GC and £300 annually for bulk buying. I currently have 10 tubes of arm and hammer enamel care as its bogof at sainsburys. Makes no sense to put that in this months budget as it clearly wont be used this monthThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

We have struggled due to new Tesco opening and me stocking up on value stuff that I was never able to get before! Also 5 week month! Not making excuses though, and hopefully we will do better in Augs. Am not too upset about going over by £11, as not too bad, and am enjoying the challenge of all these NSD's/baking/meal planning etc.
My DS is my main problem at the mo as he is going through a fussy phase- will only eat things he can hold, and even then he doesn't always want it!
Any ideas welcomed!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Morning all
my 4th NSD in a row :T eeeeee im geting back into the swing of this
Hubby has taken a flask of HM spicy goulash soup and some HM bread for lunch -oh and 1 of the 14 pieces of banana and coconut cake out of the freezer :T ..oooohhh i can now see a small gap in the freezer in the kitchen -very exciting :rotfl:
Have a batch of dough for the baguettes risisng in the bowl -so that will keep hubby happy... im going to have a bash at making some granary/seedy ones for me tomorrow :j
Last nights dinner was a hit... i put some salami and chorizo in a dry frying pan, then added sliced onions, yellow pepper, chunks of courgette, garlic, sweetcorn and peas..once cooked i added a dollop of cream cheese with herbs and a dollop of wholegrain mustard, a ladle of stock to let it down... then in our dishes i had some cooked gnocci and some little steamed florets of cauli/broccoli and some green/french/yellow beans ...poured the sauce over (gave hubby the salami/chorizo) and baked in the oven with a little fresh parmesan..... nomnomnom -and lots of lovely veggies in our system too :A :rotfl:
Tonight is going to be another "concoction"I have some charlotte/desiree potatoes out of the garden that i want to use, so im going to do them with big chunks of carrot, onions, and the rest of the big courgette -roast them in the oven and then add corned beef (well to hubbies half-he loves it
)to make a tray roast thingy and have it with cauli/broccoli and lots of beans from the garden.... im determined to use up lots of odds n sods out of the way
Right i had better get off and do the next stage of the baguettes..have a great day everyone ...we nearly have shiney new budgets to play with-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

still feeling a bit rough, but i got a lot more sleep so might be back at work tomorrow, which means a lot less time on here
managed to only spend on medicine yesterday and as i don't count that out of my gc it was a nsd!! :T
i think OH is likely to spend some today as i've not been with it enough to remind him to make sandwiches/make them for him, and as i've been coughing a lot i've not been making bread *hangs head in shame* i've been making him buy some
hope you've all got sunshine too, i might even sit outside and enjoy it

Not a good weekend ... after a couple of weeks of industry, I had one of my periodic bouts of laziness and did nothing this weekend. Baked a quiche for my work lunches but it turned out so terrible I had to bin it. The salmon quiche with the same recipe was good couple of weeks ago but in this one I used shop cottage cheese instead of homemade and spinach and mushrooms instead of salmon. Oh and egg substitute instead of eggs. It was disgusting! I'm not the world's best cook but that's the first thing I've ever made that went into the bin.
It doesn't help that I have a princely sum of £6.60 to last till the 31st. The most expensive things we buy are fruits and fruit juice and we won't need to buy any of that because I've stocked up on juice and the garden is providing us with free apples and blackberries. So we might make it. It will be hard though.
Weekend spends: Frozen peas, 2 jars of curry paste (BOGOF and Mr.S), 2 tins chopped tomatoes (cheapest at Aldi - hope they're good), 12 wholewheat rolls (whoopsied at Mr. S), bottle of Peri Peri sauce (OH insisted) - £5.02.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Well I've just added up what DH spent at the weekend. Not counting the clothes he bought himself at the next sale he spent £71.68  . What the hell was he thinking?
So I will be going into August with a nice new shiny budget that is already depleted. I'm surprised to see that with his splurge though it has "only" taken us £13.15 over budget. That can come off next months with no discomfort.
So my budget for August is going to be £286.85.
I'm going to be having a little chat with DH later about the spending because it is ridiculous. He drags the kids into town at the weekend and they hate it so he ends up buying them a treat to stop them moaning. He doesn't plan the time so he's there when they're hungry so buys burger king for them and wonders where all the money has gone? Why not just be at home or do some of the much needed jobs like taking the garden rubbish to the tip. . Right I'll stop moaning now!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

thanx for the idea denise about phoning that company up that supplies the spares...i'll give that a gobtw....i'd love a job like yours!! sounds like hard work, but loads of fun!
oh SAV3R i hope things turn out ok for you sweetheart....but like someone said (denise i think?) at least if you ask your mum about looking after your children, you'll know where you stand, and it might be a worry off your mind (((hugs)))
well i've got the BM on, first load of washing's on the line, 2nd loads been put on, i've weeded all round the flippin pond (hate that job!), done some ironing and the dogs have had a quick walk on the beach.....ready to go back to bed now!! :rotfl: been up since 5am cos i couldn't sleep
so all i've got to do now is hoover (have to do that every day cos of the dogs...thank god for laminate flooring!!) and make the rolls when the BM finishes. not planning on going near any shops today as i don't need anything, so should be my 2nd NSD day
hope everyone has a good day, and lets hope the flippin sun's here for more than an hour today! x
Really hope they can help - I'm sure they'll know something (after all they are men!) well, maybe no help at all then coz you'll have to know the serial number, what was the persons name who actually built the fridge, what time did they take their tea break?....... (:rotfl: apologies to all the wonderful guys out there in MSE land, just sometimes if you're a woman buying a bit for a car or summit, it does seem men as some STUPID questions...)
My job is fun when actually doing it, it's all the other stuff that goes with a business thats not - tax returns, accounts, marketing, etc, but well worth it. I'm SOOOO glad that I had the opportunity to pack up the 'day job' and work alongside my friend, couldn't have done it unless she gave me that.
I was also up at 5am this morning seeing hubby off to work, but after all that walking yesterday (solid 8 hours  ) and getting up at 5am yesterday I was shattered this morning and went back to bed - again, joys of working from home. Must get on now though, LOADS to do and catch up on. Also have to hoover as you could knit a jumper daily with our dogs hair - blows around on the floor like you're in a ghost town.... I can hear the whistling now.....How do they manage to still be covered in the stuff?
I would be bald if I lost as much as they do in a day????

It sounds like you're feeling a lot better now, bet you're pleased. I know when I was rough a few weeks ago it was the not being able to do anything that really got me down, you're just to weak.
Get yourself out in the sun and enjoy those healing rays... they'll do wonders to you and your spirit too, and don't even think about the GC at the moment - theres always next month, get yourself sorted first ready to hit it full on then....
