Had a better nights sleep but woke early. We had decided not to bother with Valentines but woke up to find OH had left a card on his pillow for me. Took the chaps swimming this morning and it was ruddy freezing, forgot to drop my watch off to have another link taken out. Very cross with myself.

Made a lasagne and a fruit crumble for tomorrow nights tea and also made some to take with me to the parents when I go in March. Have put them in the freezer, still got to make shepherds pie, fish pie and maybe a chicken and broccoli bake. Have still got a turkey in the freezer so may cook that and use that for the bake.

Funeral is going to be on Friday. Have made arrangements to meet the other lady on Thursday but not till 10.00. I really wanted to be up and off by 4.30-5.00ish in the mornign so its going to be a very long day of driving. She said she's going to organise the accommodation and pay for it, presuming I'm paying for the fuel, still at least I've got some company.

So glad I got the work done on the car. Still needs the exhaust doing but will get away with that for now. Think we're having burger and chips for tea. DS1 is home tomorrow so hope he's in a good mood.

  • Just popped in to say hi and thanks. After reading your posts have been inspired to do more baking so took overdue library books that had been lurking in different places and got a couple of cookery books out. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed baking and am looking forward to having a go. Reading your posts of all you make I feel
    1)HUNGRY
    2)jealous
    3)keen to try
Can you tell me how you do banana bread as can't find a recipe and it sounds YUM. There were old bananas at work that were going to be thrown out but now in my freezer til I can use them

OOOHH that's like revealing the family secret! Only to be talked about in reverent whispers, in line with the Holy Grail.....you get my drift. I'll send you a pm but won't be till I get back, if I forget give me a prod.

Just got back from the pics took the chaps to see Puss in Boots t'was ok. Did spy Sherlock Holmes was coming and must check that out at some point. Am procrastinating as I have so much to do but not quite sure where to start. DS2 is making some flapjack so I can take some with me, I did get two bottles to decant some Sloe Gin into for gifts fr people who put me up whilst I'm away. I need to pack and give my boots a really good polish 'with proper stuff'.
