Hi, can I have some recommendations for a nice, family-friendly proper restaurant(not McD or Pizza Hut type) in Glasgow. City centre, east or even Rutherglen. I am taking the family and my mum to see me graduate (with honours, he he!!) on Saturday and will be taking the whole gang out for lunch afterwards, and I'm paying!…

I am in need of dark night skies
And no it is not for any questionable activities. I have just finished an Astronomy course with the Open University. But the biggest barrier for me is finding somewhere out of the way where I can engage in my astronomy in peace and quiet. I would like a place devoid of gremlins, err I mean children and teenagers. Any…

Dundee/Perth Lamite Flooring Fitting
I was quoted £30 per square metre for the fitting of laminate flooring in my hallway by a local joiner. This fitting was an awkward shape as it needed fitting around the stairs etc. I was recommended Selective Surroundings of Dundee by a local carpet shop employee. I was quoted £10 per square metre, a saving of £180!…

Route map help
I'm taking some friends from Edinburgh to Inverness. Doing to usual touristy places (Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness, Stirling Castle etc) but wonder if anyone could tell me of any "off the beaten track" places you've found, ie wonderful views or wonderful walks of less than an hour. Many thanks.

Where to get meat in Glasgow
Where do you get your meat? I live literally 1 minute walk from a huge Asda supermarket in Glasgow and the meat isn't very good. Their square sausage may as well contain 50% ash and burns quickly, the bacon shrinks to half its size and their chicken and beef/steak mince is pretty expensive. Is there any local butchers that…
