Ok, I know this is going to win a 'stupid question of the decade' award - but does anyone know of a hotel/guest house/b&b in central Edinburgh that would be available for one night on Hogmanay this year and not cost an arm and a leg?!

Not exactly central but certainly walking distance - Have a search for B&B's/guest houses on Minto Street (there are loads of them). I'm sure their prices will still be inflated but that just what happens at Hogmany.

Don't think you'll get anything this late, most of the one's I know have been booked for months, if you google B&B's Leith Links you'll get quite a few. If you find one with vacancies let me know which one it is and I'll try and tell you whether it's worth going to.

lots of b and bs in corstorphine area cutting it a bit fine though not too far away from the town centre
