Security of safety deposit boxes in banks
Can somebody tell me what would happen if you withdrew your savings from a bank in cash, put it in a safety deposit box at the bank (as a more secure place than under your mattress), and the bank effectively went bust. Could you still have access to your safety deposit box or would it and its contents effectively become…

NS&I are offering a direct ISA at 2.5%. Can anyone please advise if there's a better deal out there? Many thanks for reading this far S&M

Help to get out of a Term Deposit Bond
My father put a large sum into a Lloyds Term Deposit last year. However, he now needs to access the money. Lloyds have told him that the only way a Term Deposit can be closed early is on death of the holder. Surely there must be a way to access your own savings - he has offered to pay an early closure penalty but to no…
