Where are "Retained earnings" kept

Just out of curiosity, where is this money kept? In the bank account? if yes, shouldn't it show up as cash then under assets?

Retained earnings are used to help fund the business - to help provide the working capital and the fixed assets which you see on the other side of the balance sheet.0
