Burnt the dinner ?????
If you burn something and set off the smoke detectors, vinegar soaked onto a towel and twirled around a room will quickly stop the smoke detectors from screaming. It also freshens the air, and captures the smoke smell before the whole house is is invaded

Sha Biscuits?
Have any of you ever heard of Sha (?spelling) biscuits? My Gran used to make these and my recent exploits with shortbread reminded me of them. If anyone has a recipe I would be really grateful. Thanks, Pink

Azaleas
Azaleas will thrive if you add used teabags to the soil around them, one or two a week is ample. Adding a cup of vinegar to a gallon of water when watering Azaleas will make the flowers brighter. Much cheaper than garden centre ;D

eating old style has a lot going for it
E120 - Red Food Colouring Ever wondered where the red colouring in curries, sweets and Campari comes from? The dye known as cochineal (E120) actually comes from the crushed carcasses of the female cactus-feeding coccid insect. Is it safe? The Hyperactive Children's Support Group recommends E120 be eliminated from…

Ask your mum...
...or even your Dad, Granny etc. In short, pick the brains of the older generations for their advice. I was inspired by a memory of my Mum. When we went on picnics, she'd take a damp J Cloth in a small Tupperware cup. Perfect for wiping sticky fingers! In the long run it's cheaper than buying endless packs of wetwipes. Her…
