Splitting an Icesave ISA
Well, I've applied for my Icesave compensation, and am awaiting the transfer and the certificate. In the meantime I'm checking out the options for which ISA to transfer to. Or ISAs. Herein lies my question: Can I put part of my Icesave money into one ISA, and part into another? If so, how do I go about it? How will each…

Rate Drop
Hello all, My apologies in advance if this has already been covered. I have just had my FSCS compensation for my Icesave ISA. I have around around £4,000.00 and as it is currently in my Alliance & Leicester Premier account the first £2,500.00 is earning 8.5% before tax (20%) - the rest is earning nothing. The 8.5% wont run…

ISA's v non-isa for non taxpayer
Generally speaking why do easy access ISA's pay less than an Easy Access account for a non taxpayer. e.g. have an Abbey Direct ISA paying 4% but as am non taxpayer can better rate in a non ISA account. Been hanging onto the ISA in case I became I taxpayer going back to work but I think that is an unlikely scenario. Maybe a…

Good ISA rate?
My Nothern Counties Building Society ISA has dropped from 6.1% to 4.2% and was wondering what the next ones are? I so Principality Building Society doing one at 5.5% and thinking maybe this is the best rate you can get?

ISA Dilemma
I currently have a Cash ISA with National Counties BS for this year. This is my only cash ISA. The rate is currently 4.21%. I am not currently a tax payer - but will be in around 2 years. With interest rates expected to drop again and my circumstances changed, I'm ready to fix this money. I have several options but not…

Anyone had an ICESAVE transfer accepted by a new bank without opening 07/08 ISA?
Hello there, I've tried doing several searches and couldn't find a thread devoted to this and I thought it might be helpful - apologies if I have missed a thread. Like many ICESAVErs I've just been unfrozen and am waiting for the money and my ISA certificate. But I am really struggling to find a provider who will accept a…

What ISA currently has the best interest rate?
As a fairly new saver, im quite clueless on the best/highest interest rate ISAs ? I have been told i require at least 5.43% in order to cover the student loan interest. So is anyone aware of any reliable banks which offer at least 5.43% interest on their ISAs? thanks

Student Loan Saving
Hi all, don't know if this has been asked before but is it worthwhile to take out my full student loan and save it in an ISA? Any advice would be much appreciated

Can I still take out an ISA for this year?
My husband and I had ISAs with the Halifax, but have just converted them to their Fixed Rate ISA. Before this my husband topped up his ISA with this year's allowance, but I didn't, because I also have another high interest savings account with the Halifax and didn't want to go over £50,000. As I haven't used my allowance…

ISA Providers
Even given the volatility of the stock market it appears the low rates for deposits make the risks for long term money in the markets more appealing. Anyone have any experience of good stocks ISA providers, in terms of costs, products, service and performance? Cheers, CJ

Barclays tax haven ISA - bad?
Am I right in thinking that this is now paying 4.08% including the bonus? If so probably better to transfer to Halifax 1 yr fixed at 5% assuming rates won't go up soon.

Can I open a new isa this year?
I have just closed an isa which I opened 4 years ago, as I was so infuriated with the customer service - no statements for 2 years, requested a cash card 9 times which never arrived etc etc. I acted rather impulsively and went into the branch and closed the account! I realise now that I should have just transferred the…

Transfer Natwest ISA to Halifax Fixed ISA ??
Can't believe how awful the ISA interest rates have turned! The Natwest cash ISA rate has fallen to 4.66% aer. Is it a good idea to transfer it to Halifax? I've seen they have a fixed rate cash ISA at 5.00%aer (1 year £500+) http://www.halifax.co.uk/isas/fixedrateisa.asp Surely fixed rates are the safest bets at this…
