Alliance & Leicester Direct ISA Issue 4
I have an Alliance & Leicester Direct ISA Issue 4. I have £3000 and plan to top up the remaining £600 at the end of this month. The rate was originally 6% but has now been dropped to 5.75% with a bonus 1% payable to 31 May 2009. This is a stupid question, but should i transfer the full amount to another ISA with higher…

First ISA
Hi, I am ready to open my first ISA. I have ~£2,700 to invest at the moment, but have just taken out a 10 month interest free credit card so will be able to top up to £3,600 without problem before the end of the financial year. Obvious question, which one should I go for. I've spent a good while reading the…

Kent Reliance ISAs
Kent Reliance have now adjusted their rates. The Direct ISA drops 1.5% to 4.26%. The under 25 rate also falls 1.5% to 4.76%. The over 65 rate goes down 1.31% to 5%. So they have not passed on all of the 2% fall in base rate and these ISAs are still good compared to many instant access variable ISAs.

Another Icesave ISA mover: 2007/08 allowance
My Icesave ISA was opened last March in the 2007/08 tax year (£3k). So sorry if my question's already been covered elsewhere, but been through many of the Icesave threads and haven't seen quite the answer I was looking for. Maybe it'll be clearly stated on the certificate when it arrives, but I'm assuming the compensated…

Hi all, I am very soon about to recieve my ISA back from ICESAVE for around £2200. Am I right in saying that I do not really need the TAX certificate because my amount is lower than the ISA limit of £3600? Could I not just invest it in a new ISA and I will earn interest striaght away? Also what are the best options at the…

Adding to an ISA after transfer
Hi, I will shortly be receiving my cash ISA back from Icesave and will be re-investing it as soon as I can. Before Icesave closed, I had put some money into it this tax year, but not the full £3600 allowance. When I have transferred to a new provider, will I then be allowed to add the rest of this year's allowance, or will…

Icesave ISA but have left the country!
Hi all, I moved abroad at the start of November and am now non-resident for tax purposes. I had £5100 in an Icesave cash ISA and hadn't yet used my 08/09 allowance. I went online on 7th October (or whatever day it was) to add another £3600 and use my full allowance before leaving the country. But of course that was the day…

Reinvesting ICESAVE isa over Internet, how does that work?
I am pleased to say that I have received my money back and it is now sat in my current account, awaiting this certificate. I will then open another ISA online but the new provider will think that it is for the current year and I can't see there will be any provision on their website for me to provide this certificate to…

How safe is my money in an ISA?
I have a bit of money in a barclays account, which i wouldn't mind moving to an ISA held by ING Direct. However, i'm worried about ING collapsing, and me losing this cash. I have it in my head that my money's safer with Barclays in the current climate!? If ING were to go under, would i have lost my money? How likely is…

Hi all. I wonder if any of you experts can help me. I have an old Cash ISA that I opened several years ago but the provider prevents me from adding to it because it closed the issue.
