Morgan Stanley Notice of Variation
My first post -- hello everyone! I've had a Morgan Stanley cashback card for many years, which has proven to be very convenient: unlike my other cards, with this one I truly get up to 56 days interest free, because I pay in full each month by direct debit on exactly the same day that my salary goes into my current account!…

Need a 0% card for a New Purchase
So, I've got a 1-off big purchase that I will be making in the next month or so, so I thought I'd take advantage of a 0% card to spread the payments out. The one with the longest 0% term is the Sainsbury's one:…

Will you give up your credit cards if......
1 - You are charged an annual fee even if you pay off the balance every month. 2 - If you realise you're using them too much and NOT managing to pay off the balance every month? Is it time to go back to pay-as-you-go for everything....or do without?

Vanquis Visa Card
I have just gone through a well-overdue 'opening of all my outstanding mail' ceremony. I'm a textbook case of the kind of person who needs a forum like this, spiralling debt and without the means to pay it all off. I'm pretty controlled in my lifestyle, I rarely go out and work as much as I can (as well as being a full…

Using visa for car hire & insurance protection
Hi, In the past i have always hired a card using my Natwest Visa card, I tend not to go for the insurance protector that is offered by so many of the car hire companies. In doing so I always run the risk of paying the excess fee should I have an accident or a little scratch on the car. An American colleague of mine told me…

Are credit cards evil, or just dangerous?
I hate defending credit card companies. It's like sticking up for used-car salesmen, or Congress. Saying anything nice makes you feel like a patsy, since their defects are so readily apparent. But in the debate over whether credit cards are inherently evil, I must proclaim myself an advocate for the purported devils. The…

Does anyone per chance have the MSE.com newsletter about the American Airlines/Citi Bank Credit Card offer. I thought I was entitled to more miles and just wanted to clarify the offer. Balance transfer advice.....
Both recently applied for HSBC cc with 0% on transfers until April '08. Both got accepted OK, mine came back with a credit limit of £5000 which was fine. Partners came back with a credit limit of £750, which isn't even 33% of what she wanted to transfer. Not sure what is best to do here. Should we transfer the £750 anyway,…
