My wife got her new M&S card only 3 days ago and it states the old rates. Would this mean she's escaped the changes? Or are there clauses in the T&Cs that allow them to change when they want and there's nothing we can do about it? It's just that she doesn't need to use the BT for another few months, but within the quoted 6, but we want the deal we signed up for, not the new one!

I think that this thread title is misleading.

The terms and condititions will be as your wife (and I and anyone else who applied early enough) signed for. They don't normally change the terms part way through, but I'm not sure if they can do so.

This is quite normal. When they've got enough customers (or are getting more than they anticipated, or are getting towards enough) they amend the terms for new customers so less people join.

The moral of the story - if you see a good deal, go for it!

You get what you pay for when it comes to sofas and chairs, agree about their wooden furniture and beds though.
