Kindle - do I really need to "update"?
I've had one of those blanket emails. It states its from Amazon and is to effect: - Kindle Keyboard (3rd Generation) requires an important software update to continue downloading e-books and using Kindle services. This applies to kindle e-readers released prior to 2014. - This is followed by list of steps of: - plug in…

Samsung phone - cannot make and receive calls
I've got an odd problem with my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phone. I can't make calls. If I call a number it just says dialling for a while and then the call ends. I can't receive calls either. If someone tries to call me I just get a missed call text. I can send and receive texts without issue. Any idea if the problem is…

New desktop
I'm looking at desktops with a budget of £500. I'll mainly be using it for image processing, lots of raw files. I'm sick of my dinosaur taking 10 minutes to do a simple task. I found this, it looks good, but I am way behind on these things. I'd probably add an optical drive which takes it slightly over.…

Recommend me a capacitive stylus
I need to buy a stylus for my mum to try out, as she has trouble tapping in the right place on her phone. Everything seems to be either £15 each for a top quality one, or £1.50 for ten that'll slice the screen open. Can anyone suggest a decent one that's in the middle? Something that isn't cheap and nasty but not…

Windows Virus Alert screen. Can't close browser.
A couple of time recently, I've gone to download a video, only to have an extra browser window open, along with a mechanical female voice, suggesting I may have a "Windows Virus", and telling me to ring an 800 number (rather difficult, since I'm in the UK), for help removing said "virus". Trouble is, I can't close the…

New Desktop
I need to buy a new desktop computer. It will be used for kids homework, iTunes, Microsoft office and minor gaming (sims). I sometimes work from home and would have a few tabs open in crome, along with excell and word at the same time. From my investigation I believe my requirements should be good processor, 4-8g ram and…

Can't reinstall Opera Mini on a Gingerbread phone
I had to borrow my only Android phone's SD card for something that required it to be formatted. When I returned it to the phone I found the stock browser won't go to https://www.m.opera.com because it just adjusts the URL to the desktop site (i.e. the opposite of the usual problem when having to use a phone instead of a…
