How to change from mobile to PC version of outlook.com?

Just acquired a new desktop pc which has come with IE8. Whenever I open outlook.com my emails are presented on the mobile version which is distinctly not my preference.

Can anyone advise me how to change this to the pc version?

No, I am talking about internet-based email from outlook.com.

Doesn't help the immediate problem but IE8 is elderly and out of support.

IE 8 is well out of date, I would guess new desktop is ancient as well!

It might help the problem if it was updated to a later version of IE though.

IE11 is the current version, unless the computer is running Vista in which case the latest supported version is IE9.

Agreed- IE8 doesn't work with most websites and I suspect it's the cause of the problem, even if it doesn't resolve this issue the PC needs the browser updated to use the internet for compatibility and security.
