Overcharging on insurance claims.
The garage nominated by my Insurance Company as repairer for vandal damage to my car has charged my Insurance Company £600. When I asked how much they would charge me if I paid myself and did not go through Insurance I was told it would cost £200. When I queried it I was told they had to charge a certain price because the…

New board suggestion - For the disabled.
MSE is just huge and probably there is much information already on it - but where to look? I thought it might be an idea to have a board aimed at supporting those specifially those who are disabled AND those who care for a disabled person. Things it could include are - What does it mean being registered disabled? How to be…

Viewing popular threads in Firefox
I thought I'd post this as I've just tried in Firefox 3 and it's still an issue for me. When I try to view a topic with a significant number of replies, for example the 3 retentions in the mobile board which has something like 900 replies, I get a blank page in firefox. It doesn't even seem to try to load it. If I copy and…

I received an email,(private message ), into my email box (OE), earlier, I have opened it from my in box, but when clicking on the link it shows this image; - Now I can post and I am logged in and can read posts and edit my own, so is this some sort of SPAM? Sticky threads on the house buying etc board
I did post up last week on the board and ask one of our boardguides, but no reply. The sticky threads on the House Buying etc board are generally ignored by the regulars so there are lots and lots of unanswered questions in them by absolute newbies. They also end up full of spam which I do report when I go into the stickys…

Charity Nomination
Today is my first day on the forum - or at least I think it is - I am a bit of a technophobe. I wanted to make a charity nomination on the site and am not sure if this is the correct route?! If it is I would like to nominte Greenpeace as my chosen charity. Whilst the majority of nominations I have seen on this forum are…

Website Banner
Hello, I'm by no means a grammar expert but shouldn't the banner read "Martin Lewis's MoneySavingExpert.com" as Martin Lewis is singular and thus takes 's even though it ends with an s? I'm sorry if someone has mentioned this before :p Gormy

Fed Up Of Spammers
Suggestion to Mods and Martin et al, re Spammers - who seem to be breeding like rabbits recently. I am a member of my local Freecycle group - and all posting firstly go thru an moderator who will weed out posts which do not give enough detail, are inappropriate etc... Well, obviously it depends on you mods, and how much…

Cheap travel money
The cheap travel money link is very usefull and has saved me a few quid. The problem is, most of the rates you have to phone up for or do over internet and use a credit/debit card. It would be good to also have a guide for the best over the counter and or cash transactions which are normally not as good as the internet…

Save A Third On Petrol
... I know it must be difficult to find new material, but this kind of banner headline is sensationalist, misleading and smacks of the spam emails we all hate. :( How about using the more accurate ..... "How to find the cheapest fuel in your area" or perhaps, "How to reduce fuel consumption and save money"? It all rather…

MSE yearly subscription to deter spammers and monies to be donated to charities.
I love this site, the help it gives to us and the people who run it. What I'm suggesting though is we start giving a little back that we save to aid charities and deter spammers. I'd be happy to donate £1-£10 per annum for this and if people still want to open up accounts to spam (which I doubt at £1-£10 per time) then at…
